I was asked to make a build thread so I did. Never made one before.

When I get something used I immediately take it apart 100%, every screw every piece. this allows me to inspect every part for any potential problems and get rid of any screws that are stripped or broken. I put all the small parts and screws into 1 container all mixed up. why? because it allows me to download and follow the instruction manual for the rebuild.

After all that I clean every part thoroughly in a strong concentration of simple green. Every bearing gets cleaned and oiled and ready for rebuild.

After everything is clean on the outside I take apart the diffs, clean them completely like new, replace the o-rings and seals, fill with oil of my choice and put back together. After the diffs come the shocks, same thing. Tear down, clean, replace o-rings, seals, bladders, and rebuild with fresh oil.

time for re-assembly

the above pics are of a team xray xb 808 2009 specs.
the following picture is of an ofna jammin x1 crt that I rebuilt last week

on the buggy I run 25wt oil front shocks and 30wt oil rear shocks
7k diff oil front and center and 5k in the rear

on the truggy I run 30wt shock oil front and 32 1/2 rear
diff oil is 30k center, 5k rear, 7k front (I'm experimenting with the heavier oil)

enjoy the pics. when the rest of my parts arrive this week I will update the thread with my finished product.

c/f upgrades on the jammin, have the original aluminum parts. scrub time? big bucket, simple green and hot water, soak for 20 minutes, swish bucket around for 30 seconds or so.. rinse parts with warm water, parts clean. you have to use the concentrated simple green you get from home deopt, not the simple green you get from the auto parts store.

the xray is awesome, i hear that not many can afford them.

you must live in the rich section of town. :spiderman: how you liking the active diffs in it?

I'm really diggin' that jammin' truggy.

just normal diffs 🙁 the shocks on the buggy are bigger than those on the truggy believe it or not. no rich side here. just us normal hard working americans. I really like the jammin truggy too (gonna be converted to brushless this summer). once my new tires and wheels come for the buggy ill take a side by side. the truggy has a sick mean wide stance.

Awesome, now that you have miticulously cleaned and reasembled the vehicles you can bring out to lumberton and beat them into the mud.LOL! hope the builds go well.
