this project has been done for a while now. i really wanted an official bought midtank but my "accountant" has not clear me any cash so after the mason rd bash in houston with all the cleaning i had to do i figured that was the best time to try it while it was all apart.
all parts are from what i had laying around in the garage. total cost for this was $3 for a new on-off switch. lots of zip ties. tons of test fitting and i changed my mind about a million times because i tried to make it as clean as possible with what i had (pretty hard to do with a bunch of spare parts and just a dremel and die grinder)
ok now for the fun stuff..

i need to get some better linkages, but it does open the carb all the way and has good braking. the piece of metal that i used for the servo i found at work that they use as a corner on sheetrock fur downs. i was going to use another radio tray and just cut out the throttle mount and bolt it to the tvp with some L brackets but this was alittle cleaner looking

the tank is off a retired hot bodies lighting buggy and the plate is just a piece of metal cut to fit. keep in mind all i had was a dremal and grinder so it's not all that hot looking. not crazy about the tank either due to about 6-8 minute run times (not sure how many cc's it comes out to). the ballon is if refueling gets messy and the antenna is just zip tied to the roll bar behind the receiver.

here is the battery's new home. i had a balloon around it too but it started tearing since this was done back in february-march

this is the opening i had to cut to get the tank to sit as low as possible in the stock radio tray after the throttle servo mounting was removed. the center blank servo cover had to then be tire glued back in due to all the clips being cut off for the opening. the tank mounts are the stock mounts just cut down alittle to suck the tank to the drivers side (good thing i had a couple of these, i took alittle took much off the first time) and they are screwed to the radio tray from outside in.

and this just shows the servo mounting to the corner plate. all i used was the stock servo mounts to screw into

i know nothing fancy but i used what i had and enjoyed working on it. i do still plan on getting the right stuff since i'm not happy with the run time, linkages, and plan to get a 2.4 ghz radio and the balloon just isn't going to cut it 🙂 but for now this will do, guess i just need to do some better sucking up 🙂
if you see anything i might need to change let me know, this is my first time trying something like this so i'm sure it's not all kosher

thanks guys! yes i did run it, i didn't have any leaning issues like before but run time has defently suffered. i'm not sure how many cc's it is but i'll get that posted once i have time to look it up. when i do buy parts for this i will do an ofna 250cc tank for sure, who wants to stop for fuel? 🙂
first tank out i did lose the plastic screw that is on the brake linkage and the second tank i killed the throttle servo, luckly i had both in the pit box.

well all i found on the tank was on the lighting pro evo buggy and mine is a lighting 2 rr buggy. but it looks identical which means i'm rolling 125cc's. needless to say we'll be upgrading.
