That's impressive for a fairly budget setup. Shows what you can do. I wouldn't want to try to run that setup in a hot climate though. The mamba max would struggle with heat me thinks.
 
I know nothing of the brushless stuff. What kind of run time could you get out of a setup like that? The torque is awesome, with the 40 series tires and on the snow too! And if anyone knows the band on that video pm please.

Runtime depends on your motors and your batteries.

Brushless is a lot faster, almost %100 maintenance free, and a lot more efficient than brushed motors. I don't know about that truck but I know that my xxx-t last about 15mins during bashing or close to 5-6 during racing conditions and it is brushless. Mamba has some really nice systems IMO, you can plug them into your computer and adjust just about anything for the motor and save them.


Brushless is the ONLY way to go IMO.

And for the video that is nice......I wouldn;t mind having an electric savage......hmmm I was looking for a project for my old truck so that just may be it
 
Sacrilege! lol I personally will never go off nitro. Long charge times and slower performance while battery goes low is not for me. Besides, what fun is it to hear a E truck compared to a screaming nitro motor? Sacrilege I tell ya!

i would get a brushless savage if it smelt, sounded and looked, like a nirto engine so I'm sticking with nitro!!!!!!

It would be nice in the winter time though, have some downtime for the nitro truck to do PM work and upgrades. IDK just was intrigued by the torque.

the mamba maxx setup kicks _____ i have the 7700kv setup running off 4200mah 8 cell pack in an electric rustler that i built ... the thing is nuckin futs....(once i found transmission internals that would hold up to the power and abuse for more than 30 minutes) even with low gearing to give me more run time when bashing it will blow on by my savage.....and if i gear it a lil higher....well the top speed becomes insane (I'm talkin 60mph ++ hello jato) and well at around 35-45 mph if ya punch the throttle its gonna wheelie IF it don't loose traction 🙂

Man I can't get my hpi wheelie bar to make my truck go straight for the life of me .. Come to think about it I can hardly ride wheelies with the thing
 
I view electric RC like gas grills. It's OK to have one as long as you have a charcoal one first. In this case nitro first, then electric is OK.

I only have one more bit to go until my brushless savage is finished. It's killing me as that one part hasn't been released yet. It should be release darn soon but it hasn't yet.
 
i'm anxious to see how the new castle creations monster maxx esc does. BL motors are definately getting bigger. Whipnet cool comment gas grill and stuff 🙂

This guys has had my money for well over a month for the 550 brushless/brushed motor mount for a savage. this takes your reg snitro savage and converts it to electric with the three speed . well this guys has failed to respond to emails and there is no phone #
I have reported it to paypal. And then also to my local police for internet"wire" fraud. I have even talked to the local police in the area of which he resides and they have nothing on him.
This part is for my son's savage for hime to race again. so the thing is how to tell a 8yr old sorry man your truck is still waiting on parts for over a month and half.
well I'm getting steamed about it for I want to get bambam's truck back up for him !
So this is just a warning out for all!!
 
I picked up a BL savage off ebay w/ the kershaw chassis already done. I'll let you know how it performs. has a castle phoenix 80 esc and a feigo 7xl motor.
 
I have 2. One is an e-savvy that Bryan from SMC raced at the 08 WF. Still trying to decide which power plant I want to out in it. The new one i bought is a Savage 25 that uses the Kershaw designs mod: http://www.kershawdesigns.com/ I have some big SMC lipos that will rock. I'll try and get some video of it in a few weeks.
 
Sounds like a plan. I just purchased one and plan to do a beautiful build on it. I'm looking to put the Novak BL in it with some Lipos. I will def do a extended chassis to help the drivability and also upgrade the center drive shafts. I'm looking for someone that will make a set up of drive to wheel shafts as well to replace the stock plastic ones.

Have you had any issues with the diff to wheel stock plastic shafts?
