brushless conversion

If you wanna go brushless just buy the flux. I have priced it and it's not worth doing the conversion. You also have to think about the added stress to your drive train and tires. You will go through those parts fast with a brushless set up.

Having done it both ways more then once (didn't own a Flux, but did drive one plenty)...I can only agree with one statement. Yes, with brushless your drivetrain may suffer more breakage.

My 8T has not broken a single drivetrain part since the brushless conversion, and the 8T isn't considered as tough as the Savage. It's got a center diff. so that makes a big difference when speaking of tranny issues.

I did a Savage brushless conversion long ago before it was popular or *cool*. Long before a 1-speed direct-drive was available. That conversion cost me way less than the price of a new Flux so your statement makes me wonder.

I can build a ground-up brushless Savage for very close to the price of a new Flux with many many better parts. Depending on how stupid you get with the build you can match or even beat the Flux price.

If you're a tweaker like me, then build your own and do the hard research...that or ask the guys here that have done it more than once. Or if you like to just drive and not *wrench* much...buy the Flux.

I wont adress the diffs but the Flux tranny is just a 8 dollar part to be made a Flux tranny. That and TVP's and you have a flux out of your X or XL. so 240 for 2200 and MMM 8 bucks for tranny 248 in drive train parts ... add batt trays, mill mount, tvps.

In my case I want nothing to do with HPI's tvps, junk servos, TX/RX and plastic shocks. To much to throw out on a 620+ truck. 372 bucks is not worth what that flux chassis is worth IMO... can be built with your existing parts cheaper and stronger...

Don't forget selling any nitro parts to cover some cost. 😀Jjam:

the e savage runs a 550 motor, and that seems to get the job done. mtbikertim runs a Mamba Monster Max system, and that thing is nuts.
I tried a 550 motor it started smoking I’m using a 2000kv motor 120 amp esc 50kg steering servo and I had an extra battery tray I’m running 3s it’s fun but I’m going to run 4s soon and see how she runs, I made a motor mount out of an L bracket from my local hardware store and I just used the stock transmitter and reciever from Hpi 🫶
