Hi Guys,

I just hooked up my new radio gear and the steering servo, a Spektrum Z590M just did not respond.

No noise
No movement

Is their any way I can test to see if it is dead?

I will be spewing if it is as it is brand new.

Thanks in advance.

dumb question time:is it plugged in right? ive done that before....try plugging it in in another location and see what happens....my 2 cents

Try plugging the servo in a different slot. If that doesn't work try a different servo. If that doesn't work make sure that you have voltage going to the receiver, if you have that then its the receiver/transmitter thats having an issue.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the advice.

- I have tried the throttle servo (works) in both the throttle and steering slots on the receiver and it works fine in either slot, so this eliminates any concern with the TX or RX.

- I have double then triple check how I am plugging it in and it is definatetly correct.

- I have removed the base plate from the servo and the connections appear to be fine.

One thins I have noticed is that if I slowly move the servo while it is unplugged it seems very stiff/tight to move. Is that normal?

I will be bleeding if it is toast from new.

Thanks again for all your advice and help guys.

If its brand new, you should have a warranty. Don't mess with it, just get it exchanged.

Or upgrade to a stronger servo before you finish the build and have everything done. I'm surprized nobody has suggested that yet.

I would have, its a smart choice, however he might not want to spend the extra money.

Thanks guys,

I do not think I can get warranty as I read the Spektrum DX2 owners manual and it states that the warranty is not transferable.

The guy I bought the truck from is in the USA and I live in Australia, so I do not think I will have much luck.

I think I may just have to upgrade now.

Any thoughts on a good servo to match up with my Spektrum DX2 RX and TX??
