I've got the FLM LCG extended chassis on my savage xss and the brake linkage rod (86356 D on page 32 of Xss manual) is much lower on this chassis than stock. Naturally this is because the FLM is a LCG chassis.

That being said, the rod connecting brake linkage rod to the throttle servo is (86356 C on page 32 of Xss manual) is slanted. I'm not sure if this is affecting brake or servo performance because the lineup of off.

I've uploaded a photo of the area.

acually the X SS TVPs are LCG as well. Although I'm not sure if it's the same measurements for LCG as the FLM ones.

Bend It

yes I can move it up a bit but it's still going to be pretty slanted. Remember moving that rod up is going to change the pressure being applied to the brake disk. The more the rod is moved up, the more left to right play it will have.

FXSTRONGSIDE: I see you've bent your rod and and you've got the ofna linkage kit. Your brake linkage rod is pretty straight though, very good bending skills there 🙂

Maybe this is a good idea for an aftermarket linkage kit for the LCG chassis on the market. The slanted rod is affecting the brake performance a bit. I will try my hand a some bending later on.

Thanks guys...

Grab it with some needle nose pliers and bend it how you want. It gives it a good clean bend. I bent my brake linkage with the stock setup as well, works just as good. In other words it doesn't matter whether you have the ofna linkage or not the bend will help either way. Try it.

It could, but I wanted my throttle linkage to line up. I didn't mind bending my brake linkage but I didn't want to bend the throttle linkage. It's really up to you. In short, YES.

I used an old linkage rod from a clodzilla i had and made a new longer brake rod from the tranny up. you can go to a bike shop and buy spokes, yes bicyle spokes. they come in various sizes and are nice for makeing heavy duty levers or linkages, cost a few bucks maybe less.
this is an old pic.

Alright since Mono gave out a ghetto mod secret I will too. lol

Any hardware stores have little ground markerss with littyle 3 inch flags on them.

they are real cheap and the little metal rod is perfect for making linkage parts, too.

I'm useing two of them.

ok i bent it using pliers as FXSTRONGSIDE suggested and it was quite easy. Just be careful to make one clean bend rather than bending more than one spot on the rod...thanks again...
