So I just put the IRC shocks on the savage that came in on Wed and they look amazing! Here is the thing, at about 4 feet it bottoms out when I was holding it in the air and testing it. Anyone have the IRC shocks and having the same or had the same problems? I'm running the springs half way down the shaft and 35 shock oil. Let me know Cheers!!

I don't have these shocks but have been wanting a set. I am interested to see if this is normal. It doesnt sound good to me, not for bashing or jumping anyway. 4 feet isn't much.

What has kept me from getting these is the price because I really was wanting to run 8 of these on one of my trucks because it is heavier than stock. I ended up putting some heavier springs on the stock shocks and it works good.

You might want to try stiffer springs, but honestly I would think the stock ones woulnt bottom out. I think the weight of the oil is fine, it really just changes the speed of the compression and recovery. Anyway they recommend 35 or 40 weight.

Anybody running these, is this sound normal?

hey piper, not running the irc's but I would try heavier springs if you are bottoming out at only 4 ft. That doesn't even sound right. What springs work with these shocks?

Thats what I thought, it seems like the stock springs should do better than that, maybe they are not right, I would call IRC and ask them.

Lifter, I think they can use the LST sprngs.

In theory, springs are for ride height, shocks are to dampen the movement. Does IRC offer different cartridges or pistons? Perhaps consider trying some heavier shock oil?

Losi's LST shocks do an awesome job with the LST which is heavier than the Savage. Maybe the IRCs are built with "softer" cartridges than the LSTs?

I thought they can use the lst springs. Just wanted to make sure. If you are going to do alot of jumping, I would say go with the yellow lst springs. They will definitely take whatever you give the truck. I use them on my lst when I want to get crazy and keep everything in tact.

If you want to step down one, go with the blacks.
Thanks guys, they seem that they would be great for racing it absorbes the small jumps great what a diffrence compaired to the stock ones. So you think I could use any lst springs? go for the yellow ones? You know the manual they give you has yellow ones showing. Still they are worth the $$$ they mount great lots of options and just look AWESOME!!!! Cheers!!

Actually all the lst shocks springs are the same height. They are different

guage wire and have different spring rates. You need to see if you can find

the spring rate on your springs and go from there. The spring rates on the lst

shocks are listed.

white-4.0

black-6.0

yellow-7.4

I know when I race with the white springs, even on small jumps it will bottom

some. When I have the yellows on, you have to catch mad air to make it

bottom out.
