So many of you may know, i just got back from Afghanistan, and while i was deployed i built my first BL build, and below are the pics and a brief description of what i was aiming for.

I call this project Ares due to this being built while out in the remote parts of Afghanistan over the course of 6 months. Before i start i want to give a BIG shout out to the guys at team tekin for an amazing product and great support not just for their product, but for their support for the military, i greatly appreciate it, and i know all other military members in the hobby appreciate it at well.

Also i want to give a shout out to Larsen at platinum RC for a great product and for being a great friend in helping me put this rig together in such a far away place.

Anyways i built this rig for one thing in mind "pure unadulterated, face ripping power...under control"

the main guts are a Team tekin 1550kv motor with a RX8 ESC with a 20T pinion and a 44T spur gear. All held together with XL length Platinum RC carbon fiber with LCG shock towers and Losi T8 shocks.
unfortunately i was not able to take pictures as it was being built, and right now it doesn't run due to a broken steering servo. but will be up and running soon enough.

told ya i was waiting for the pics so thought id check it out before i pass out from this damn migraine! lol

Sweet ride my friend!

this was built to be a racer thats why it sits that way, and by god does it do it well. It totaly blew away a revo with about 3k worth of work with no probs, i had it stuck t 45% throttle when we went

it took me a while to get it down to where i want it, and to get the handling that i wanted. Using the savage suspension conversion, T8 shocks, sway bars, XL length outdrives and maximizer offset rims adding 2 inches to the width of the truck and lowering it about 1 1/2 inches to 2 inches. i think i have only flipped this rig about maybe 3 times the entire time i have had it, one time it wend end over end and it broke my TTR ace 1015 steering servo.

Sweet rig DR. and welcome home, glad ya made it safe, as a former service man I know what is like being away from home for a long time.

fix that steering servo and run that beast looks damn fine to me Buddy.....
