Been looking for a new truck want something cheep and electric that I can use to play around with in the house a little or outside with my son.

A few questions. Is the truck built good enough that I can though a stick pack in it and have fun or do I need a ton of other stuff?

How well do they hold up?

Does it use a standard size servo?

Can I just drop in a speky receiver or do I need to change ESC, servo, and a bunch of other stuff.

Is it LiPo ready if I wanted to go that way?

What kind of cheep hopup motors are there?

they are tuff trucks they will take a beating and keep on going if u wanna see how good of a beating it will take look at savage sam videos and they handle 10 times better then a slash

They use a standard servo

u can drop the speky in it

it is not LiPo ready

for hop up motors
use a brushless setup
or drop to a 12t or 15t modified brushed motor
theres more out there ill post more when i get home I'm typing this while in class

Hey a friend of mine who is a die hard traxxas man has both the slash and the blitz and he says the blitz handles bette out of the box than the slash. For whatever that is worth to ya LOL

Anyone got a link to a cheep hop-up brushed motor? Is the ESC brushless able or do I need a new esc for that?

I think you need an ESC for that. IMO these trucks are fun right out of the box. Maybe not the fastest things in the world but if your looking for something cheap and durable just to have fun with, I'd say the Blitz is a very good bang-for-the-buck type of truck. I have two for my kids and when I take them out to run them they practically have to pry the Tx out of MY hands LOL. They handle very well although I don't have much to compare them to. On pavement and grass they are fun, but if you get them out on dirt and gravel these trucks really shine. BTW I'm just running two cheap venom 3000mah 7.2V stick packs for now. Cheap, reliable, and durable. These trucks are more than enough for my kids to learn with, while still being fun for me to drive. I can only imagine what new electronics, motors, and LiPo batteries would do to these trucks. Now that I think of it, maybe I need a third one for myself LOL.

The stock esc only handles down to a 15t motor. A good cheap system would be a FLUX system or Castle as they are the same thing or, and please don't beat me down for this, the Velineon system from TRX. All 3 of these are on the cheaper side but offer great performance. I've heard a few bad things about the new Dynamite FUZE systems but I can't say for sure as I have no experience with them.

THE BLITZ IS THE BEST HANDLING AND EASIEST TO DRIVE of the short course trucks. The stock esc is hard to get used to if you have to run it in a spec class as it has no reverse lockout. If you pump the brakes you get instant reverse. The BLITZ takes a brutal beating just like the slash can. The difference is the BLITZ can take about any and all normal and even not so normal abuse in box stock form. The slash has issues with the shocks...Shock shafts bend rather easily and the biggest probelm is with the shock caps. They have to be THE BIGGEST PROBLEM with some of the TRX line.

I raced a slash all last year. This season, I'm wheeling 2 BLITZ trucks. I'll never stray from my hpi's as they make my life simple with both racing and bashing.

I'll post my racing setup later toay.

the stock esc can handle 2s LiPo... it just doesn't have a cutoff so you MUST monitor the voltage in the pack... you could also run and external cutoff if you don't trust yourself. its very easy to tell when the battery needs to be charge as you can see a sudden drop in performance.
all the blitz is is a good starting platform for a brushless truck, stock they are turds and just no fun unless you plan on racing on an indoor carpet..

I really like the blitz. It's a fun truck to drive even stock. I am buying another one soon to drop a brushless set up in it because I was surprised at how fast the truck was with just the stock set-up.
