I really need to know which savage x tvp's are the best. i like the integy 6mm tvp's but heard bad things about integy. i also like hpi's carbon fiber ones but i don't want the low center of gravity set up and i don't want to buy the new engine plate to fit them. Sooooooo i was hoping to get some answers from you guys. anything is greatly appreciated : )

I use two different types of FLM I recommend both depending on what you do with your truck. I also like IRC. But if your in the USA I would not get them. I don't recommend anything integy.

i think i mite go with FLM. But does the LCG chassis make the truck loose ground clearence? And i want TVP's that arent extremely heavy duty but ones that are better than stock. and possibly a cooler color.

P.S. Why is my name thing in "pink"? :duh:

Your name is pink b/c you haven't replied to your activation email yet bro ..

You will loose some ground clearance .. but should make up for it in handling ..

ohhhhh... i haven't gotten any e-mails from them. so idk. but anyway I'm probly going with the FLM TVP's. they look tough enough so ya. thanks for the advise!

i've been thinking about grabbing the LCG tvp's from FLM but apparently you cant use the rotostart unless you mod the bulkhead a bit i was told is this true? and what exactly do you have to do? anyone know? i have a savage x so would definately like to keep it as a LCG setup!!

they are tough. the only groound clearance you loose is the hump in the middle of the chassis. as long as you are running your shocks in the same place, thats it.

if you go in at an angle through the left hole in the shock tower, you can get to the rotostart without modding. you have to hold the roto sideways though.

Welcome Damon, good to have ya here at hpisf. TVP's? i also have the flm ext lcg's & i wouldnt worry so much about ground clearence.. all i know who have them jump big air and drive over all conditions.
.
i have not run the carbon-fiber tvps yet so i cannot give any insight, but i encourage you to take a good look at them; theyve been really gettin my attention lately in terms of durability & strength & i see a set in my near future for a 2nd savage project.
.
I'm sure some peeps with C.F. experience will chime in here 😛eace:

Welcome aboard my man. Were glad to have ya here, if I haven't already said this.

Anyhow I want to throw my Platinumrcproducts Carbon Fiber TVP's. I have both Standard length LCG and Extended 1.5" LCG which are great. They are made of the strongest 4mm CF there is and 100% made in the US. These things will take a heck of a beating and are guaranteed to take more than you could throw at them. They are by far stiffer than the stock stuff and most other aftermarket TVP's on the market. We also stand behind our product's 100%. We are new to this and had a few issues with some fit in the beginning but have resolved these and come to have a perfect product. We also offer many other parts to complete the savage in CF and adding mid-tank kits and the full 9 yards, just check out web site out. However they do come with price but are well worth it.

Anyhow, as these guys are saying the LCG stuff is awesome and from what you sacrifice in ground clearance is a huge gain in handling. You will also never notice the missing ground clearance. But its your choice, lots of great options out there. Good luck!

ooh ok thanks i can handle that!! thanks for the info!!!

+1 on the IRC Kit, but I'm in the uk so I can get then quickly. With std lenghth lcg there is a bit of fiddling to get the rotostart shaft in, but nowt major. With LCG (I ran the std lenghth IRC, new build is 6mm front extended) it will add approx 4mm to the rear, as the rear dog bone sits more horizontal coming from the 'box. But with rear extended setups there isn't supposed to be as much of an issue with regard to the rotostart. Just get a pull start, your OWB will thank you! :stickspank:

hey thanks everybody for the info and welcoming me to the forum. i really like the FLM chassis and i also the strength and the sweet look of the carbon fiber tvp's from platinum. Man, this is going to be a tuff choice. i'll have to think about it.lol. Thanks!
