well, a lot of thinking, cus I'm alone in my truck for like 12 hours a day.

ive been thinking about putting my savage back to stock, but then all my hours of working on this thing and getting it to be a pretty sweet truck would be all for naught.

on the other hand, ive been thinking about getting a new savvy ss, or a roller of some sort, throwing my lrp and cen diffs in it, and running a stock one with maybe some minor hop ups.

the reason ive been thinking about doing this is because every time i run my truck something seems to break. i could be driving circles in my paved driveway and break a dog bone. i could be letting it idle and burn up a slipper. stupid stuff like that that shouldnt be going wrong but seem to be going wrong.

don't get me wrong, i love my savage, but lately all the wrenching and no driving is gettin to me.

i liked the days of stock when i could go out, fire it up, and bash the crap out of it for a couple hours, break stuff that should break, and have a good time. ive been driving mine for a tank, mind you its a 125cc cen matrix tank, and then something breaks, or the motor wont start back up.

so basically what i am saying, if i decided, worst case scenario, to put my savage (see link in sig) up for sale, would any of you guys be interested, or do you guys have a solution to my problems?

sorry bout the rant, but this has really been bothering me.

This happens with rc cars as they get older weather you hop them up or not. Big contributor to more breakage and wear is more power though. My biggest issue with my savage is the slipper and dog bones and drive cups like you. The more slop in the cups the quicker it seems to destroy dog bones. I though I had fixed the dog bone problem when I installed the flm ones but I have destroyed a few of those now too. The LRP is to blame for all the broken dog bones though. If you loosen the slipper too to try and save the dog bones you melt the slipper. Best thing to do I think it to design your truck with weak points and keep lots of spares. Stock parts that you can get cheap from chop shops are always good.

I am installing cen diffs into the nitro and the xl dog bone kit if it ever turns up and I will see how that goes. I haven't had any issues with the stock diffs other then those bearings collapsing all the time. So i'm putting in the cens for the bigger bearings.

The good thing about breaking dog bones as long as you aren't breaking centre ones is that the are easy to replace. same with the slipper too as long as you have spares on hand.

thats the thing, ive torn it down, cleaned it, not to shiney new clean, but clean enough, and put it back together. i just cant bring myself to do it again cus of how tedious it is the the mid tank mod and such.

I would replace all drive cups, (wheels everywhere) replace all bearings.. All stripped plastic parts. ect make it a tight truck again .. or just off load it on ebay

i was thinking something along the lines of what jimmy did. i have almost a whole second truck waiting to get put together. it needs basically all driving parts from the dogbones out, new shock towers, and a couple other small things.
