what do u guys think about beadlock rims, and which ones are the best?:40:

I have proline beads and think they are junk. I have a set of bowties on them and every time I run, they pull loose (every tire). I would not recommend these to any body. My 2cents. here are the rims I am talking about.

wow lifter, I had those too and they were great just too heavy for me.

komodo has them now. we did a trade.

I went from those prolines to stock x style wheels and tires.

now I'm running road rage street tires.

my 6 cents

I use black 17 mm Maximizer beadlocks. They have a 1/2 offset so thhe truck is more stable. They are great.

lifter-The rims should hold the wheel tight, maybe you didn't tighten them enough or maybe the tire your using has a smaller bead.

They may not stay on but man they do look awsome!!

yeah, I agree, they are some sweet looking rims. It maybe the bowties are to soft for them. I think I will get a different set of tires and try them. They tighten all down so I know they are tight enough, maybe just the tires but the bowties definitely are not very good with these rims.

lifter that is one bada** looking truck, the only time my bodys look that good is the day i put them one.I still done know which one i am going to get but my rc store has them on the self.

I was eyeballing a set of these Proline rims at my local hobby shop. Are the tires breaking out of the beadlock?

i've never had a beadlock that could lock a bead!they would always come off in a hard corner or bad flip. i can say...i've had better experiences withjust gluing. and yes fallen....they ARE HEAVY!

I'm running badlands and maimizers and just pulled the beads on them this past friday. i had the same happen with the axial beadlocks i had. gonna give glue a try now.

offtopic - love the sig Souja55 "Kiss my Converse" classic haha

i run axials beads and i have never had a issue witht he bead slipping over then the screws backing out over time. and cracking one in half on a major bad landing from 15feet lol on concrete other then that i happy with them just whish there were more tire choices or axial would jump onto to standard sized beads.

i haven't had good luck with any beadlocks i try. about the only ones that actually held were the ones on my Baja....i still have those here too!

and Dooley....glad you noticed!!!

I had the AXIAL Oversize Beadlock 8 Hole Black/Chrome AXI8017 with Big Joes. After pulling off the tire and inspecting it, I found the inner part of the tire were cut. If the beadlocks are to loose the tire may come out and if you tighten it too much the tire might get slice by the inner channel where tire meets the groove. I only use it for show now and nothing more.

i use the maximizer bead locks and they only came loose once cause i for got to check them and some of the screws were loose. but other than that they are great.

maximizer arent alloy rims they are plastic beadlocks but yes you can run them on the savage you can pretty much run any wheel on the savage if you have the right size adapter because stock is 17mm

On their website they do advertise an aloy beadlock rim, but it is in a 14mm...What I am curious about is if these rims will fit, are they too small or big, etc...this is the link to their site:
http://www.maximizerproducts.com/modules/store/Aluminum-Beadlocks_C3769.cfm

They're advertised as being 3.2 so they will fit but to be sure, give them a call. Also ask how much they weigh.

I have a set of the plastic with about 6 gallons on them & never threw a bead. By design i don't see how its possible to throw a bead unless the screws back out, you strip them or you run the adapter ring with non "thin bead" tires.

Again, ask for the weight of the alloys--- hopefully theyre lighter than the plastics--- caz the plastics are HEAVY!
