How bout callin HPI and ask them if you could put one in.I don't think its made for a battery pack(I could be wrong).

If your looking for the latest technology, you can get a LiPo 3cell for the TX.

It''s the new application that alot of RC''ers are doing for their TX's.

It can be a little costly getting started with the expense of the LiPo charger, but it gives you alot of extra run time in the TX dept.

I reccommend a Duratrax ICE charger for about $119.
It's a good charger that charge's everything you'll need in RC.

I asked the LHS about this and was told by a team driver that disposable was the way to go because rechargable tends to drop voltage quickly. If you got a failsafe you shouldn't have to worry. No personal experience, guys logic was good enough for me.

I converted my stock savage tx to use LiPo, it worked great, I did have to remove the battery holder that wa in there and took a dremal to the cover to make room for larger 3 cell LiPo.

LiPo's really don't drop voltage very far, at least you shouldnt let them fall below so many volts per cell, but the amp hopur ratig is good till that drop. so if it is a 1500mah pack it should still be close to the cutoff voltage, so for a 3 cell LiPo it is around 9volts is the lowest it should go, you can drain them lower but there is a chance you will ruin your LiPo. some say 3volts per cell I usually don't let them drop more than 3.5volts or so.

with NiMH's if you put 8 rechargable AA cells in its highest voltage is only 9.6volts so it starts off as low as the lipos lowest votage should go.

I ruined one LiPo in my tx because I left the tx on over night. the whole pack was around 3volts. I was able to bring it back.
