Battery Box Location

I know a lot of people have had problems finding out where the heck to put the battery box once they do a mid-tank build. Well after some talks with frddyj and his donation of some Carbon fiber pieces from his blue groove sway bar kit. I mounted the Rush Battery box Part number #HPIA349 on the bolt that holds the shocks in. The battery box is like 7 bucks, I'm sure you can make some pieces to hold the box up to the shocks with something other than CF.. Here is a picture for reference in case anyone has ever been interested.

good 1 vis, also, platinum rc products makes a carbon fiber piece that bolts the rush box up the same way (i think its like $8-10) & i think he also sells the rush box. i'll be grabbing 1 of those when i order my ofna plate from him.

On a side note, Freddy pointed out that the way I had my shock bolts mounted could make for problems if I came down very hard. I switched them around so don't follow what I did for the shock bolts.. do the opposite !

just mount your radio gear inside the tvp's. battery will fit on one side receiver on the other.

Look did this with larsens TVP's. But you can do it with any TVP with a flat radio plate where the tank mount's to the top of it beside the steering servo. The first thing you do is lay out the location of the battery. I set the 5 cell hump pack on Larsens skid plate with one side of the TVP installed. I also had the cross braces on there. It fits snug right inbetween the braces. I took Lexan that was body thickness and put it in water that was almost boiling. This made the lexan very plyable. you could also use a hair dryer on high. then I layed it on top of the battery where I wanted it to set. I then took a very cold rag and layed it on it to cool it. Then just cut it out how you want and use paint or dye to color it. The two cross braces were used to hold the plate down with longer screws ran through them and nuts. That's it. When your doing these mods think out of the box. look at the truck and some of the materials you take for granted around you.
