i recently took apart my savage for some repairs and when I put it back together there is barely any power in the back wheels. I messed with the slipper clutch and brakes and when I put it back together it wasnt giving the back wheels much power. When I was finished reassembling it I noticed there was a little pin that I don't know where it goes. I took the whole back section off but didn't mess with the rear diff. on other threads I have learned the pin must be the problem but I have no idea where it goes! I don't know a ton about nitro cars so if you can make it simple for me or include pictures that would be awesome! Thanks!

It's probably one of the center cup pins, either the cup on the trans or the cup on the diff. They tend to fall out and require loctite, along with the plastic ring thing that HPI supplies to help hold it in place.

So are those screws or just a pin with no thread? Because mine has no thread! Thanks a ton btw

did you have the wheels off the truck when doing your repairs, if so I bet it is an axle pin for the hex drive

If there are no threads, then it's probably an axle pin that goes behind the hex or an internal diff pin. Those are the only two pins I know of on a savage that aren't threaded.

take off the same wheel the hex is a black plastic part that drives that wheel. put the pin in the axle hole and slide the hex back into it to keep it there and then reinstall the wheel....

You guys were spot on with the wheel pin! Rubs like a champ now! Thanks a ton for the help
