axial wheels?

I had a set and hated them.

They do look sweet I will give them that but, they were a pain in the behind to assemble and they didn't hold the tire bead very well at all. It all may have just been me being a newb though. Someone else may have had better luck with them.

i run the 1.9's on my scx10 and yes, they are a pita to assemble with the tiny screws for the beadlocks but if done right they hold together just fine.
I love the look of these axial rims/tires and would get another set had mine got broken later on.

I've been considering these same wheels as a replacement for my proline beadlocks. The prolines break behind the bead and I'm wondering if these have the same problem since they are very similar.

i have never heard to much good about beadlocks. a simple dish rim and some CA glus is the tried tested and true method, and cost efficient.

I'll give ya that. But if your looking for something a little different not only do the beadlocks look good they also have some real benefits.
First off I like my 23mm hexes. No stripping them out. If you get water in a tire you take it apart and dry it out. If you trash a tire or wheel you can replace that tire or wheel at a much lower expense than replacing a whole set of tires and wheels. So I'd argue cost efficent. Cheaper up front but not necessarily in the long run. They are a little heavier but my truck has no problem keeping up with trucks with standard tires and wheels. And the cornering abilities of my 40 series tires and wheels smoke the stock marshmallows. So to me the trade off is worth it. If I wanted to race it I'd use glue and dish rims because of cost and weight. Its all a matter of personal preference of how and where you run it and where you want to spend your money. In my case I have two trucks with defective wheels (no longer produced for this reason) and if I had to replace the tires also it would cost me another $120. I sure am glad they aren't glued to those rims.

As a side note. RC wheels used to be two pieces with an inner ring which held the bead to the rim. They were a pia to assemble but it worked.

........still waiting to hear from people who have used these whether they are durable.

ive used them for 2 years never had the bead pop off during use always after use due to loose screws. Ive only busted one rim in half during those two years of use . only downside only fits 40s tires not much selection there

I have a set of the maximizers and axial beadlocks with different tires. The looks are sharp and it is all a weight issue for some poeple. Some like it light while others like heavy beastly RC.

If you are looking to bash they are good

If you want to race you migth want to reconsider using it to challenge other trucks that has a lighter wheel/tire combo.

IMO the heavier tire works better for mud runs. When it comes to cleaning I can remove the beadlocks to clean the foams, tires, and wheels. It is time consuming but worth it, especially when you invest the money for it.
