here we go, got an axial .28 spec 1. darn thing fired right up last weekend when i had friends down at the house who never seen a nitro truck run. well i gave the radio to my buddys girl friend who proceeded to hit dang near everything on my street (a landscape boulder, a tree support, and the neighbor kids walmart rc. needless to say that alone cost $45 dollars to replace. crying four yearolds man i whish i was mean) but any way a shock was destroyed no big deal i had a complete set of spares in the parts bin. my problum is this i found a big gunky oilly build up on my right tvp. in the general area of the clucth bell. my question is this ... does this sound like a wasted front engine bearing? i have read the front bearings in most engines are weak and garbage. i have yet to pull the motor to confirm or deney the bearing issue. after the motor stalled it was a bear to refire. sounded like the motor spinning with limited compresson with the roto start. here i go again lost and confussed.

Yep sounds like the front bearing to me that same thing happened to me with my axial 28 didnt make it through brake in replaced the bearing seems to run good for now

I'm not knocking the axial engines but i've heard alot of people having problems with the bearing

well i got about a gallon and half of 20% through the motor and then reset the needles and ran two tanks of 30% and lean it down was runnin good till last weekend. put another half gallon of 30% thru the motor. again after the first start it was a real booger to refire. sounded like compression was way down. man o man it's gunky on the right tvp around the clucth bell. do ya think is terminal? looking for a reason to buy a lrp .28

Axial bearing suck, if you got that much on them you should be happy. As far as the compression thats a different demon. Maybe try putting a new bearing in the front and see if it will run.

ok so this happens with all the axials??? what idf i was to buy the 32?? would that make any difference, or should i just stay away from them??? also what if you just swaped the bearing before installation

Axial's are hit and miss really.........as far as front bearings go. The mill itself is great! That MSN will start backing out on you if you are not carefull though. I have had one that started leaking at about 1/2 gallon. I have had 2 of them that did not leak at all and last over 9+ gallons.

I have had two axial .28's, with my first one, my front bearing went out after about 2 gallons. I called axial and they said it was because I had been running my motor too hot and they wouldn't replace it. I was pretty much turned off by axial then, and they only reason I had another was because it came in my RTR Robitronic Mantis.
