Hello Guys and Gals

I am Jay and i am new to this forum but been in rc racing/bashing for over 7 years. I wanted to gauge the interest in a set of tvp and everything needed to make your Savage wider and lower. i know there are many companies selling LCG TVP's. But mine would include everything to make your savage inches wider and thus more stable. I have access to CNC machines and programmers, I have an extra Savage SS coming for fitment and in the next weeks I will begin fabbing everything in balsa for test fitment. I will be taking pics of the steps of production and will share them with this community. I was just putting this idea out there, so I can gauge everyone's interest in a product of this type.

My honest opinion is many have gone this road before. To get my attention they would need to be cutting edge. When I say that I mean to a extreme. 7075 billet and thiner for strenth /weight very low CG and full warranty or Id just stay with a more established and proven maker. Price could not be more than the norm as well. But on par with matrials of course!

As far as wider how? Alloy A-ams are for shelf queens IMO. Axel extensions are now also a norm (HPI XL) and another route that I feel is no good for a solid MT. What are your thoughts on this?

As far as you making a set+ and showing us your process start to finish. I'm all for it! This alone could get me to try a set...

The initial sets would be billet aluminuim. To make it wider would be from the middle out, meaning wider engine mounts, wider transmission mounts and wider servo mount with a mid tank area. I am also planning a revision with the motor "lying down" to help lower the weight more. All a arms and stuff would be made of original parts probably RPM since they can hold up to anything. The kit will include everything from the dogbones to the tvps complete. Like I said in the first post i am gauging interest here for mass production when i get the final sets completed, also to show you all the build process. Thanks Jay

There was a company that made extenders for the center of the truck awhile back (mega told me about them once)....can't remember their name though...

here's my concern...widening the location of the TVP's won't widen the point on the bulks, where the A-Arms mount/pivot...there won't be much of an effect on handling, good OR bad, as the A-Arms and wheels and tires will all be in the same location...mostly the only real difference I can see would be cosmetic, as it would make the truck look wider...

unless, of course, mdisturbed has some way of extending the pivot points of the A-Arms? 🙂

Cool! spreading the TVPs out away from each other poses another problem. Aside from the position of the bulkhead output dive cups. If you move the inner A-arm outward this will have a negative affect on handling. I'll use ATVs as a example the 250 R was a excellent handling bike Raced and sought after by many. This was do in part to the front A arms inner mounts being as close together as possible. Now you look at the Banshee the Arms were move outward so the inner mounts were almost a foot apart. This is the main reason you saw most of them in drag racing and not moto style racing. They just didn't handle well. After market frame manufacturers moved this point closer together to alive this issue with them. I guess what I'm saying is don't move the mount point outward. The closer the better for suspension geometry. There is plenty of systems to do this for us. XL axles, spacers, offset rims etc. I prefer to use offset rims myself. They are less prone to failure.

I would like to see a lay down mill style. HPI has a prototype nitro Wheelie King like this and me as a buyer just do to the concept. Plus I don't even want a king at all so that shows what concepts can do.

I understand this thread is you hunting interest levels. :resp: I have a big interest in a well made product. So I guess the level of interest is up to you. I will be reading here either way. Again good luck and thanks for reading my 2 cents.
 
Wow how quick should complete mock up of parts take in between work, a four month old son, a 10 year old son and a home in current state of remodel......LOL no it didn't die just taking time. Patience my son.....LOL

LOL !!! Not you the thread. I know this will not be over night. I was just giving it a bump for all to read.
 
I'm waiting on some titanium tvp's. I've mentioned it to Flextek a couple of times.

I would love to see it made of Ti that would be light and strong. maybe the engine mount to roll the engine to make the weight of the head more midline for balance. keep us posted on the progress..
