i seem to be chewing through quite a few antenna tubes which i just have sticking through the top like when the sav x came right out of the box. i noticed in a few pics that guys have them pulled toward the back of the truck in an arc & they look shorter. anyone have any tips on a better way to run the antenna & tube?

well u could go 2 a skektrum radio with a short antenna or for most people who cant afford that kind of thing like me i have got my antenna in the tube and i wrapped it under the body and thru ad stock plastic roll cage and then thru the read body mount between the rear shock tower and the body holder
i will try 2 get some pics 2 night so u can see better

thanx rex, that sounds exactly like what i am looking to do. i will upgrade to a better radio system at some point, but i am putting my $$ toward the flm lcg tvp/mid tank/3-speed/ofna link mod right now. i would really appreciate a pic if you can find the time. thank you for your help 😀Jjam:

Definitely the best way to go it to a 2.4 radio. I love my Futaba 3PM 2.4 Radios which almost all of my stuff is on. This gives makes the receiver wire to be about 4" long or less.

Like Rex said, back when I was using FM or AM radios with super long antennas I would rought them under the roll bar as well or somewhere like that. You do loose a little distance but not to much you will notice. Also, when doing this you need to be carefully that the antenna doesn't rub on something metal or aluminum or you will end up with lost signal or servo twitch.

thanks l.r., i am going to give it a try. i plan to upgrade someday, but i'm in the middle of putting the bit of $$ that i can aside for a new chassis, mid tank mod. what servo do you run on your steering?

I tend to run the Hitec 5645MG at it's a great servo for the money and its digital but I run digital radios.

About the best servo for the buck is the Hitec 645MG which at 6v it gets like 133oz and is like .2 sec. It is also metal geared and will have plenty of power for the average driver.

hey mate sorry it took so long i still don't have my car back in one piece i will search around for an old pic for you
sorry bout da delay
