recently got some aluminum bumpers and wanna get the aluminum bumper supports as well. What are everybodys thoughts about aluminum shock towers? Are the stock plastic ones better b/c they may be more forgiving and not rigid like aluminum might be and break other stuff?

Sorry to burst your bubble but aluminum bumpers and supports would be a no no, at least with the nylon they will flex. But with the aluminum it will just stay bent. i don't know of any other way to put it :lmao:

I learned the hard way I built a solid savage 25 out of integy aluminum hit a jump maybe 1 foot of air landed on the back bumper and bent the aluminum skid plate all my fancy aluminum bumpers now it is just sitting on the shelf

ljsavage if you bash your truck stay with plastic. if you want it to look pretty on the shelf then bling it up with alloy. the added wieght and decreaced durability of alloy is just a no no

+1 on the alloy - it looks good but for the most part I try to stay away from it. The only place I use it as a matter of practice is in the outer hubs and carriers since the shock/load is not absorbed by the hubs, but the plastic arms, etc.

Thanks guys thats kinda what i figured. I run aluminum bumpers connected to the stock plastic supports and stock shock towers so i'll leave it like it is. I am def a BASHER at heart!
