Yea i know thats why I'm uping the spur size and a fitting a smaller pinion, i wanna have as much HD gears as possible in the center box

AJ... you are running a high kv motor with the 39t idler and you are still running higher gearing that i was with my low kv 1600kv motor! no wonder it went BOOM...

Lower you pinion to a 14t... or you a speed calculator, and gear for 50-55mph with that kind of motor...

Bit of a update

Ive changed the gearing to 18t pinion, 52t spur and high speed idler, shes good for 53mph on 6s now and still bashable on 4s

Yesterday i fitted a new Savox SC-1268MG servo, its rated at 26kg at 7.4v, ive changed the BEC setting on my ESC to 7v so she pumps out around 25kg and really hauls the wheels round, its quick as well at .11 seconds

any way i can pursuade you to remove the high-speed idler and go back to stock? also, i thought i read that the motor your using is rated for 4s max?

The gearing seems good, putting on a larger spur and lower pinion have counteracted the high ratio of the Idler, i ran it on 6s on sunday and the motor temps were cool and the Leopard loved 22.2v of power

Those tyres on those hpi dish rims look huge!!! BIGGER THAN THE BAJA COMBO!

no wonder you can still do standing back flips with them!

The spi wheels and badlands are too small to get enough grip or rotational force to give me back flips any more... which i guess is a good thing... but i like the idea of bringing the crazyness back...

What tyres are they again?
did you tape them to prevent ballooning?

I'm trying out the alza-racing cnc pin braces / bulkhead braces (removing the alloy bulkheads and going back to composite to do it)

i still like this one myself, thought you might be doing something original (keeping gravedigger decals off). hmmm
seen that Traxxas has a stampede GD out now which is actually kind of cool with the green accent trim (bumpers, etc). Not knocking your ride here just got excited at the thought of something new/different as mentioned.
