3 speed recalled?

I heard a while back that the 3 speed had a recall. Was it for a specific time? I have a friend that needs his 3 speed fixed and was asking about the recall. Any info? thanks!

I don't know about a recall but I think HPI was shipping out a new 3rd gear because the ratio wasnt as stated in the original kit
