3 speed gearbox

So I've bought a 3 speed gearbox box with reverse, looks exactly the the same as the one in mine which I belive is 2 speed, so presumably a straight swop, but where does this wire goto and from and will it work with my controller. Thanks

The box/wire is a mixer and is intended for use with the reverse module. When running a reverse module you need a third servo and the ability to hook up a third servo to your RX. See the HPI write up in the link below, I think that will help you.

Yes, those should drop right in. Just follow those instructions. One thing you haven't mentioned though, do you have a third servo? You will need it to actuate the reverse module.

I'm guessing you're asking how you'll know if you have three servos? Stock, you don't. Either you got a third servo when you got that transmission, or you have another laying around. If not, then you will have to buy one.

I wonder why traxxas didn't use something like that vs the stupid optidrive. That's kind of neat and simple. Also, cool that you don't have to flip a switch on the transmitter to use it and can use it with a 2 channel transmitter.

Reading is good! All information you need is in that PDF......including a recommended servo part number.

I sometimes wonder why I bother posting when people don't bother to pay any attention to it. Eh.....it'll be helpful to someone, someday.

So been looking at servos seems I need the sw1 which has been discontinued by hpi and replaced with the sw10, does this mean it like for like, therefore ok to use for my reverse,

Yes. Pretty much any standard sized servo will work.
