Ok, so after doing my 1st throttle / brake mod last week on my new build I thought i would do the same to all my savages. This is number 2.
The parts I have used are as follows:
1 x Fastrax racing throttle linkage set fast94RBK
1 x 2mm(14g) collet with allen key (pk4)
1 x 2 x 200mm rod, you can use a 150mm rod. I used a pair of Z bend pliers to form the end.
1 x 25t alloy servo horn. Free with Feetech servos.
The whole mod has cost me £8 for the parts, £2.99 for the linkage set, £2.99 for the collets & £1.99 for 2 x 200mm rods which are threaded on one end, but this end gets cut off so not important. Like I said the servo horn comes free with Feetech servos.
The rod has to be formed to clear the plastic roll bar and all i did was to mimic the original throttle rod to get the shape by using 2 pairs of pliers to shape it. The end which locates in the throttle bell crank was formed with a pair of Z pliers which will cost you about £10-15 but most model shops have these and if you ask nicely the will put the bend in it for you for free. It's a no brainer for them to make the sale.
2 of the springs used come with the linkage kit, the 3rd is from a pen.
The brake rod is the standard savage one .
This is a cheap, quick and easy solution to get rid of the woeful savage throttle/brake servo saver. Takes about an hour to fit & adjust.
