are you talking about the spur or drive gear? often are you stripping them?

Make sure nothings bent, and it's a good idea to put a little grease on the gears inside the tranny

Plastic gear inside the tranny. I noticed it wasnt shifting anymore. No teeth on the gear. My tranny had a ton of grease in it. This is the first time I have stripped it in about 3 gallons.
Is this something that I will just have to replace every so often?

Well I do know from experience that plastic gears definitely have a life span due to heat and mating with a metal gear all take a toll on plastic stuff, I would just be prepared for it to fail every now and then and have spares on hand for it.... and keep looking for that metal gear for a replacement....

They have the titanium gear but not the steel one. I am running a 2 speed anyway. A new one cost less than that gear. I bought a new tranny because I have a wobble in my input shaft causing runout on my spur gear. I am hoping to get rid of that. The gear I stripped is only $3-5 so I guess I will just get some to have. I am hoping lubing the tranny with something other than rancid elephant lard will help it out.

I should probably go into my diffs while I have it apart.
