    Goodsy's Brushless Savage XL build

Still going strong. Rear diff failed. Rebuilt and shimmed up tight. Love this RC. Savage is so strong it can even handle the extra torque of brushless.

Flux Trans Forward Motor/ESC 5s build

I started with a 16T pinion and 47T spur. With the reduction of I think 6 to 1 in the nitro second gear. I changed this to an 18T pinion. It was just to torquey with the 16T. Leopard motor is 2200kV and I'm running 6's. Best setup yet.

Where do you work on your RC gear? Got a room?

I do and I reckon it's great. Everything is easy to find and I've got plenty of bench space. Missus telling me to clean it up. I have!!

    XL drive cups abnormal wear?

This problem has only affected the outer front drive cups. No wear on any of the other cups. Anyway HD dog bones on the way. As well as new drive cups. Mickey your advice came to late. To me they looked stuffed so new part in. Expensive lesson though.

    XL drive cups abnormal wear?

Ok just spent the last hour on the puter looking at XL drive cups. Seems you need the upgraded XL HD dog bones when used. My bad.

    XL drive cups abnormal wear?

These cups have had about 5 packs put through them. They are not standard but have an extended drive shaft. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220932762549#ht_746wt_1037 I've sent a message to the supplier and am lucky they didn't damage my Savage. They made a metallic...

    Goodsy's Brushless Savage XL build

It is finished!:woo: Running 16T pinion 47T spur. Torque is unbelievable. Going to try an 18T pinion the calm it down a bit. Serious bashing for 20mins in ambient 30C and the motor never got above 68C. No cooling fan needed. I can now see the difference between a cheapo motor and a good...

    Roger Waters..............

Went last night and it is by far the best concert /show I've ever seen in my life and I cannot see anything beating it. Sat 18 rows back from the stage and dead center. I reckon the best tickets both acoustically and visually you could get. Snapped a few pics with my phone...

    Goodsy's Brushless Savage XL build

Thanks. I know it's not as impressive as most of the other builds/projects out there but done on a budget. Believe me I am jealous of some of the other builds!! Just wanted to show you can do a brushless build quite cheaply. $200 for the Savage X with 2.4 radio gear and about another...

    Goodsy's Brushless Savage XL build

It's alive! Finished off the electrics now just the shell to go. Not sure what to get as I need one suitable for a 400mm wheel base. Could just buy a HPI XL shell but want something different.

    Goodsy's Brushless Savage XL build

Made up ESC mount plate. Those extra 2 inches of the XL are very handy.

Flux Trans Forward Motor/ESC 5s build

My brushless setup on an X was around 14 1/2 pounds. Motor it's self was over 500g. Standard TVP's though. XL build is much the same with the Leopard motor being slightly lighter.

    Goodsy's Brushless Savage XL build

47T spur, 16T pinion. HobbyKing 150A esc ATM supplied by 2X3s 5000mAh 30C Zippy Batts. Reckon the ESC will sit nicely behind the motor. Bonus of the XL TVP's. Also bolted these on for a bit more width.
