Is this going to be a problem for me on my bevel gear?

Also, how do you calculate your final drive ratio? I understand the clutch bell/spur gear ratio, and I understand the pinion/bevel gear ration in the diff, but how do you figure those two ratios together?

Is this going to be a problem for me on my bevel gear?

I think I'll probably stay with stock diffs for the moment. I am however quite interested in the CEN diffs. I have a buddy with a CEN and may get rid of it, maybe then I'll jump in and buy his rig and see what I can use from it. Also, I figure I'll learn how to shim these properly before I spend...

Is this going to be a problem for me on my bevel gear?

So I should check the spider gears then Bank? Is 30k silicone oil good for inside the Diff assembly?

Is this going to be a problem for me on my bevel gear?

I've considered the CEN diffs... Just not sure if I want to change all my ratios. I like the balance of speed/acceleration that the stock units have. They look so wicked though! Hard decision. Shimming would make any diff bullet-proof though right?

Is this going to be a problem for me on my bevel gear?

Well I checked the small gear that connects the drive shaft to this bevel gear and it didn't even have a scratch. I suppose I should also pop open my front diff and check that one? Do I need to check the spider gears too?

Is this going to be a problem for me on my bevel gear?

Just opened up the rear diff, put in some new silicone diff oil (30k), and noticed some damage on the teeth of the bevel gear. Is this something that needs to be replaced ASAP? What is the likely cause of this damage?

    How much diff grease?

I'm specifically talking about the stock green grease that can be exposed be removing the rear skid plate. Evidently my LHS only carries Silicone Oil at 30 000 Wt.

    How much diff grease?

Last weekend my seal on the bottom of my rear diff was compromised so now I'm going to change out all the grease. My question is, how much grease do I put in? How do I know when enough is enough? Is it possible to have too much?

    Cen GST 7.7 tuned pipe

They are however, particularly hard on their trucks. For all I know, they didn't even install it correctly.

    Cen GST 7.7 tuned pipe

Two of my buddies have put this pipe on their CEN GSR's and both have broken the pipe twice each in the same places. One at the opposite end from the engine (the screw or something that holds it up), and they both broke the little connector nub thingy for the pressure line back to the fuel tank.

Looking for a Hobby shop with Savage parts

Anybody know of a good hobby shop in Kalispell Montana that has savage stuff. Going camping there and I want to know where I may be hanging out should I bash my truck to pieces.

    Little Help Please....

I've used the sanding disc and drum a bunch of times on my body (I even used the disc to do the Mr. Snuggles Throttle Mod). Also, a grinding stone thingy (kinda like a pencil in shape) is pretty helpful.

    3 Speed Transmission confusion

Ok... I have a Savage X 4.6 RTR So which three speed tranny do I need for more top end and more bottom too? I want to assemble it myself to save the money and for the fun of it. And I want the adjustment on the side just like my current tranny has. So what's the part number? I feel like...

Clearly it's good, but you got any good tips for pre-heating when you're say... camping?

Changing Fuel - Mixed responses from LHS

Sounds like everyone agrees. Excellent. The fuel I'm currently using is not the easiest to get, too far on the other side of town. And I've never heard anything bad about Byron's Gen 2 so I'll probably move to that.

Changing Fuel - Mixed responses from LHS

I was buying fuel yesterday from a LHS that I don't normally buy fuel from. I was getting 20/12 Sidewinder. I have been happy with it, but have no other experience to compare with. Anyway, they guy at that LHS said that 12% oil is too low for a big block engine (I have a Savage x 4.6 RTR with...

Savage x 4.6 RTR stock shock oil weight?

I had 45 weight for a bit, and it was way too thick. Now I'm running 27.5. It's good, may go back to 30 next time, or 32.5. That's seems to be the area that I like though. I ended up calling HPI about the stock weight, they said it was 30.

    Uneven power

Let me clarify a little. The steering is not centered, but then I adjust that with the steering trim on the transmitter. So even when I have it running strait, bursts of power will will make the car go a little left. I have the same shock oil in all 8 shocks. If I pull a wheelie it seems to go...
