Today I actually went to all the pawn shops within a 25mile radius. Nothing. I'm also not hopeful that any of the owners/employees will contact me if the truck comes into their store. In my experience, pawns shops are pretty shady places. I knew somebody that worked for a local shop years ago...
Be thankful you still have your truck...this morning I just realized somebody broke into my garage and stole my Savage (among other things). Now I'm left with a transmitter, a couple NiMH battery packs, RotoStart2, glow plug ignitor, Prophet Sport charger, bells, spur gears, roll cage, air...
I ended up grabbing 2 Hitec 645mg's for throttle and steering duties. I noticed that the stock Savage servo horn doesn't fit onto the hitec bc the horn diameter is too wide. I just assumed that it would be a direct fit, but you know what they say about assuming....
Anyways, what parts do I need...
I've done this before and solved the problem using a piece of notebook paper. Wrap the hex key in the paper, jam it into the hex screw and hope for the best. If one layer of paper doesnt work, see if you can squeeze in another layer
I had the same problem with a completely stock setup, my bell came from the factory with about 1mm of play, maybe even more. Went to the local hardware store and did this, no problems and its been about half a gallon

Thanks for the welcome, switched from another forum due to a bunch of immature clowns.
Anyways, I don't need anything extravagant, maybe under $40??? Only use the truck for light bashing/off-roading and I wasn't totally disappointed with the SF-2 to begin with
Which brake set should I upgrade to? I've got the old Savage X 4.1 single fiber disc with two metal plates. From the start they never worked well, even after lots of adjustment and fuel tubing in place of the spring. I was using the stock SF-1 servo (i know it's weak), but there was next to...
Ended up getting 2 hitec 645, but now having some trouble fitting them...goto last post of thread.
Hey guys, looks like I fried my SF-1 throttle/brake servo somehow. Gears aren't stripped but it sometimes only works in one direction and sometimes doesn't work at all. Might have been due to...
