Am in the middle of rebuilding my son's Flux differentials and waiting for the parts (gaskets, seals, bearings, bulkhead).
An HPI customer service rep recommended 1000 wt diff fluid/oil, but most of my son's driving is NLRC monster truck type races and freestye, so I think I will go a little...
Another option for those who don't have a torch is a soldering iron.
A bevel screw wouldn't come out for me and stripped it.
A soldering iron heats the metals nicely (a litle safer than a heat gun).
I bought that same power supply last summer and had to send it back because it stopped working. It was out of warranty so I paid the ebay price plus shipping it back to seller plus $35 to repair.
That power supply is just a computer power supply with 12v banana plugs and a switch. I made...

Lots-o-fun.
My daughter has a stock e-savage on LiPo's and son has a brushless e-revo. If they do well in school this year and racing, they will get a Savage FLUX to share for the summer.
The nicest thing is that it is a...

My preference is for the Traxxas connectors over the deans for the following reasons:
1) better grip and easier to connect/disconnect (especially for kids hands)
2) easier to solder, because no shrink tube is needed, as with deans (the TRX soldered tab fits entirely in the connector body)...
