    Solid Rear Diff, mmmm ????

Locking a diff is designed to do one thing and that is to get the power down to both wheels equally, if you start driving on surfaces that require a diff to work normally...ie grass, off road and jumping etc then i will put money on you damaging something....probably strip your dogbones very...

    bent clutch springs

'Maybe' the new engine is the problem. Too much torque possibly for the springs you have, you can buy heavy duty springs with the ally shoes...i believe New Era and Ofna do these springs...might be worth a look.

    bent clutch springs

Have you made sure that when you fit the shoes and springs, you pushed the inner part of the spring down far enough to hook inside the nut on the shaft, if you look you will see the nut has a recess about half way down and all the way round it, i have heard of this before and it is where the...

    rear exhaust

Hey Hoppedup Savage, i have added an old header pipe that i cut down then coupled it to the exhaust with some heat resistant tubing that was lying around. Doesnt affect the performance that i have noticed but then it isnt that long, just enough to direct the fumes away to the ground. Heres a...

    Half-Tank Lean Issues Solved....

Hi Trashard, i had a little too much fuel going in to the carb(works too well) at one point, don't know if you will have the same problem but i have remedied this by extending the fuel tube going to the carb. Here is a pic to explain, i have not had the problem since. :o

    Half-Tank Lean Issues Solved....

Hi all, i have just made myself a fuel tank to stop the half lean tank issue which most savage owners will have. It is a very simple design that works very well, my apologies to anyone out there that has already used this idea and i am not suggesting in anyway that this was my idea first...

tuning issues with savage 25 rtr

Hi Radkins, try using a colder glow plug, richen the lsn up to about 4 turns out to start especially in the weather you are having being so hot and richen the hsn to about 5 turns out so it starts and ticks over. Then when it idles for about 30 secs without stalling adjust the hsn gradually...

Learning to 'Front' and 'Back' flip the SAVAGE

I'm no expert as you see but i guess its just practice, i did however come off the power first in flight then hit the brakes.....and also with front flips but got on the power again in flight which seemed to kick the truck end over end...good luck and thanks for the comment.

15t Cb With A 51t Steel Spur Gear

Maybe a wheelie bar could come in use if you havn't already got one as that combination of clutchbell and spurgear with the sts.28 engine will make the front end slightly twitchy i fear, i personally wouldn't do this with a 3 speed tranny as the first gear on them is even quicker than the first...

    savage .21 clutch question

Hi 'on-spinners', the 3 shoe clutch is a great upgrade to get as it disperses the power better to the clutch bell, the aluminium shoes are tougher and hard wearing and the springs are stronger too, there is less frictional contact and a slightly later engagement of the shoes which prolongs there...

    Home made Tank Guard..

Greetings, nipped out earlier and made a temporary tank guard to use until i can justify buying one to the wife. This took about 15 minutes to make from start to finish and can be trimmed and painted to preference after, but the best bit is that it weighs next to nothing and can remain there...

    Tuning Help

Hi tompbz if you have changed any of the needle settings then a good place to start would be the Factory Settings which are easily found in your manual which came with the engine. Get it back to those settings so that the truck will start and tick over and follow them to the letter....seems a...

    engine trouble

Hi Roninexpress, Like BEER said sounds like a fuel lock, i usually take off the air filter (make sure nothing gets in the carb) then take spark plug out and turn the truck upside down, pinch the fuel tube so it doesnt try to draw more fuel up and simply turn the truck over and give the engine a...
