finaly got it goin today...........i had to lean the high about 2 rounds....running at 252 now so i gota back it off just a hair.......evedently some idiot messed with my needles when i wasnt lookin or either the glowplug change did it.......i switched from a cold plug to a medium OS p7......
i put the wasp28 with a 52t spur gear........has tons of hopups & weights 14.2lbs..........it wheelies even if i don't wana......have to ease into the throttle if i wana keep the nose down.......that thing hauls tail too.....
when i start my nitro engine it idles ok......but when i mash the gas the thing boggs down & allmost dies for a second or 3 then it picks back up.........do i turn the high end or low end needle to fix that & if so, which way do i turn it ? richer or leaner ? all the o-rings are new, fuel line...
easyoff oven cleaner works too but it WILL take crome or paint off the rims....i use beadlocks now & like them much better cause when i need to change tires, just unscrew & pullem off then put on the other set.....
if ya wana use the pullstart heres what ya do......convert the engine backplate back like it was......i still use a pullstart.........when my wasp28 was new i broke 3-4 pull cords in 2 days time & not by pulling it out too far either.........they allways broke close to the middle so........i...
i tried using the black springs that came on the hpi 25 clutch & had to go with the gold coloured ones........or you could change to a new works adjustable clutch.........i put that on about a week ago & it works great on the wasp.......
i been thinking about just puting a OS 46 rc plane engine in its place.........did it with my revo before & it ran like a cat set on fire with gassoline.........did have to put a cooling fan in and rig up a bumpstart for it.......
whats the difference between the k4.6 engine & the wasp 28 ? who is it made by ? just curious & like learning about different engines other than what i allready have.......ill reset the carb this weekend & see what happens..........what if it still don't work ?
get a pullstart dude........you will like it........i used to swear by the rorostart untill a friend at the track give me a pullstart........with that rotostart i was going through 1ways like mad..........since i went to using pullstarts, i haven't blown a bearring yet and its been nearly 4...

the carb on my stock engine in my savy did the same spinning thing...........i took it off & cleaned/dried it real good then put 2 drops of the blue locktite on the problem area........i let that cure for 24hrs & never had another bit of trouble with it.......i still have that engine & runs good...
ive got a savy with all aftermkt parts except for the arms & they are still stock......aint broke one yet.......i got a wasp 28......broke it in exactly as the instructions called for and have run about 1/4 gallon of hpi 20% through it......i kept the engine temp at 245 to 250F........still...
i sined up a month ago on the hpi engine exchange program.....my understanding was that if you send in a 21 size engine you get a 21 engine in exchange & not a bigger or smaller one........did i read wrong on the hpi website ?
