Hard pull starter

I was wondering if anyone could help me out.My pull starter on my K 4.6 is really hard to pull.It's brand-new and I can't seem to get the engine to turn over for break-in.Some points in the pulling process are easy,then the pull starter gets hard to pull.I checked the glow plug.ok.fuel.ok.carb...
