theres alot more awesome engines then a STS or Axial.. The STS 30 is not my favorite, it is the best performer, but not necesarly my favorite.... I work on alot of different engines, Axial, SH, STS etc. when i get a motyor my goal is to make it as fast as possible, i treat every brand the...

    help hop axial .32

isn't this forum for sharing knowledge and ideas ? If you don't like a brand of engine please speak up ! I may have things to say about an engine that people may not agree with, but I am not bashing any engines, i am telling the truth of hundreds of hours of R+D on these engines. Debating about...

another mill to look at is the SH28P6/XTM 457 , its amazingly powerful and fast.... Honestly it has more tourque then the Axial 32 and alot more top end... and is pretty much just as easy to tune... I have videos of a 457 Savage racing a Axial 32 Savage, since we ran together all summer...

Axial is easier to tune, STS makes alot more power...comparing a sport engine to a race engine.

    new engine time

for low end tourque i think the Axial 32 or OS 30 is a good choice.. though there are alot of complaints about the OS 30, from lack of power to short life span..so IMHO i would avoid the OS 30, i would get a Picco 28 way before an OS 30. For an all around powerhouse engine you can't beat a...

Ok guys you wanted the sts .30 here it is

sounds like you need to pull the tranny out !!! either that or the stock cluch is not able to hold the power and is just slipping.... with 17/49 and a well tuned STS 30 the stock clutch is going to be taxxed beyond its capabilities IMHO... did you notice more snap with the shims removed ?

    glow plug prob!

what motor ? what fuel, what fuel %, what glow plug.. how much fuel has gone thru the motor ? and if its new what methid of break in ?

    os .30 vg

the OS 30 is a very tame engine for the $$$$.... some people have great luck with it, others do not. Lots of the 30's wear out very fast, and IMHO there are better mills for the $$$$

Ok guys you wanted the sts .30 here it is

you really need to remove some shims man !!!! its in the engines design !!!! I likely have run and modded more STS 30's then anyone on this site... please trust me... remove your head button and count the shims !!! with 20% run just 1 silver shim...

Ok guys you wanted the sts .30 here it is

Have you removed any shims yet ???? Or do you think its not needed ?
  14. S

Ok guys you wanted the sts .30 here it is

jester you haven't removed any shims from your 30 right ? thats where the extra tourque is hiding, STS 30 comes with either 2 or 3 extrra shims to make break in easier, from factory it is shimmed to run 60% Nitro LOL.... If your running all the extra shims and 20% fuel your seeing about 60% of...

    Pipe For My Axial .28

the best pipe i have found on the Axial mills is the older XTM one peice tuned pipe for the Savage..... it brought the top end out on the Axials quite a bit.

    STS .30 rev2

here is the site you were refering too http://www.nitrodynesystems.com/HPI%2028%20Axial%2028%20compare.htm and they used different plugs, and each motor had different squish tolerance during testing. No need to argue, I will post pics of an Axial 28 beside a HPI 4.6.. I own both motors so...

    STS .30 rev2

30% nitro.. the engine will run cooler , tune easier and last longer. head shims are something that cannot be ignored, people not doing this are asking for problems.
  18. S

    STS .30 rev2

i find these motors easy to tune... But alot of people seem to have problems... the key is to be patient and take your time tuning it... the tune wont settle down till it reaches full break in, at about 1.5 gallons... I find that once you do get them dialed they almost never have to be touched...

First video, STS 30 Carbon Savage

you cant slam a truck any more then Integra's.... the suspension is ultra soft and the a-arms are hangling less then level, the skid plate is 3/4" off the ground as she sits... the chassis is a 1" extended ultra low COG.....we have done everything in our power to prevent it from wheelying even...

    STS .30 rev2

I have both mills apart on the bench a 4.6 and a Axial 28..sleeve is 100% identical, same timing, same porting... the cranks are slightly different, but identical timing, the Axial has a crude turbo crank, the 4.6 doesn't... The difference in the dyno is from using different glow plugs more then...
