little update: some troubles with the diffs, seems i ordered the wrong alu bulkheads from flm... the hd cups don't go through the holes so now i'm waiting on some vorza cups and rebuild them... :s
still alot to do but the next thing will be extended a-arms !
just ordered this little baby...
yes it was this one from worx
Let me be clear it's an awesome bumper and worth every penny if you have a baja but because of the way i had to mount it on the savage skidplate it had way to much flex. It flexed so much my brace mount screws left markings in it lol
This bumper is...
Thank you very much Dejan, appreciate it!
Its really fun to make custom parts eventhough i haven't got any special tools but a hacksaw, drill, benchscrew, vacuumcleaner and not enough patience lol
Really hope the material holds up well but i think it will, testing will reveal the flaws i...

Hello hello, been a while but haven't got much time for driving my rc's but i made some vids of the conversion.
first one is just testing it a bit.

second one is with the new 1717 heli engine, still no bashing but i don't know if i will do that with this thing :)

i had that idea also, just filling it up with heavy diff oil but i'm swithing to a center diff now so the idea never got into practice...
but let us know how it goes!
Losi is kicking HPI's butt into oblivion with their new truck!!!
shame on hpi for not listening to customers and recycling over and over the same products....
:catfan:
is there anybody who could weld baja dogbone balls on the stock flux dogbones?
i think this will be the easiest solution.
i can post them to you and i will pay of course.
cheerz
thought it wasnt gonna be such a difference but it seems it does. Since i cant see it in front of me i don't know what i can come up with but probably
someone who can machine something or weld a baja dogbone end on a flux bone :) will be fun to make it work!
so i'll probably have a big problem that the flux dogbone will be waaay to small for the baja cup but we will see hehehe maybe i can fix it in some way.
i want to use a baja drive axle in my savage flux so i want to use the flux dogbones, the cups and all the standard flux stuff. Only the baja axle and bearings will be different to make it fit or so i hope ;)
picture this:
flux hd diff cup - hd flux dogbone - baja axle + needle bearing -...
i'll see i guess, won't use the baja cups on the diffs, just the axles in the wheelhubs btw.
i'll recieve most of it this week so i'll post some pics as i try not to fail to much :)
hello i wondered if somebody has allready done that?
i'm trying to do it but if somebody tried it allready plz let me know.
the first problem was to find bearings that would fit, standard bearing size is 8x16x5.
Baja axles are 12mm and flux are 8mm so i would need 12x16x5 bearings so...
saw nothing special since i only ran for 5-10 minutes lol, i'll take her for a spin in the morning.
some updates:
I tested the new motor, all i can say is....TORQUE!!! on 6 cells and with 20/44 gearing it just flips the truck (7,8kg) like its nothing, it's pretty over the top to say the...
I ordered a new motor for my conversion, a 1717 from Castle :) It's bigger and meaner lol
It also has the 6mm shaft so i had to mod all my pinions to 6mm. Fortunately the guy from the rc shop knew somebody who could do it for 7euro per pinion (took 30minutes per pinion lol!) so i can still use...
