If you decide to part it out, I have a buddy with a picco that needs a new button head. His is stripped out and once it's fired up, blows the glow plug out.
You can either watch the whole clip or just skip to about the 5 min mark and clearly hear both shifts. Been chasing a tune most of the day (north fl weather is all over the place). I "locked out" 3rd so it wouldn't shift and worked on the 1-2 shift til it was set, then started on 2-3 shift. Took...
I'd definitely look into other brands for shocks seeing as HPI parts have been scarce lately. Probably the reason why I haven't ran my savage for quite a few yrs.
Do not use the shocks from the xs. They are too small to use on big brother. Try and find some hellfire or similar length & diameter shocks. Or shocks from another truggy. First jump and you're more than likely to blow out a shock or bend the shaft. You have to remember that the XS is only...
Hey Fred. Been awhile myself. Yeah, I would definitely say it's still a work in progress. I'm gonna try and pop in the site a bit and try to find some time to run mine. Been sittin waaaay too long.
RKD09, www.innovative-rc.com is the website. There's a link tab on the left for the savage line of parts. All there parts are awesome, perfect fit, and durable as he**.
I'd suggest the Nova. Picco is no longer in business from understanding and parts are near impossible to find. Been lookin for a button head fir my buddy's P3 for about a year now with no luck.
Sorry to see that. But, if you didn't know, you never want to store your LiPo batteries diacharged. Always store them, short or long term, at 80% charged.
NitroNick, send me your address (if you live in the USA) and I'll send you all the parts I have for when I had the LST style shocks on my savage. The shocks are actually from the XXL, but they are the same as the LSTs. There will also be a set of RC Raven dual rate springs.
Looks to be a nice build. Last rebuild I did (8-9 yrs ago) I went with IRC too. Top quality stuff. I went with the 1" rear + 6mm front extended TVPs, Ofna 250cc mid tank kit, and LST shock mount kit. I've dumped the LSTs in favor of some Cen GST alum shocks. About the same as HPI big bores but...
The only thing adjustable in the 2 speed is the shift point. You can't "adjust" it for more torque in one gear and more speed in another. That would involve changes in gears, which they don't make. If your tune is off and the shift point is set for too late of a shift, it could be possible for...
Nice build and man, that motor is huge. As for bodies, I'm usin IRC (Innovative RC) 1" rear + 6mm front extended TVPs and 10th scale short course bodies (HPI blitz) fit pretty good. And they are a bit wider too than stock savage bodies.
