    Savage Suspension conversion .....

I did this conversion and really like it. My XL handles very well in my opinion with this setup. Just keep in mind that you can no longer adjust your toe on the rear if this is something that is important to you. If you decide to go this route, I would shop HERE. $136 is the cheapest price I...

Looking for help with 17mm wheel nut conversion

Ah. OK, now I understand. I do have the XL as you surmised, and I think I have found a solution that will use the existing hole in the XL axle shaft. I am going to drill a hole through the hex on the Ofna adapters and tap it 4mm and use 2 dog-point set screws that will engage the existing hole...

    U.S. Custom Cage "Giveaway"

Happy New Year everyone, and especially HPISF and its "powers that be" that give us this great place to hang out. </suck up> If you are drinking tonight, don't forget to give your DD the keys to your Savage. The aftermath of drunken carnage is not something you want to fall victim to.

    Flm Tvp's ? Same length as XL stock ? Roto-start compatible ?

Let me try it from my end. I have an Android myself, and sometimes really question whether "smart phone" is an accurate term for any of them. LOL

    Flm Tvp's ? Same length as XL stock ? Roto-start compatible ?

When you decide to sell them, if you think about it, shoot me a PM and let me know. If I am in a position at that time I may get in on the bidding.

    Flm Tvp's ? Same length as XL stock ? Roto-start compatible ?

Yeah, I see what you mean. Your wheels/tires look HUGE by the way. I am running 40 series Axial 8-hole beadlocks and Pro-Line Trenchers and they don't seem nearly so big for some reason. Maybe it is just the angle of the pic, but it almost looks like a 1/10 body compared to those wheels. :D

    Flm Tvp's ? Same length as XL stock ? Roto-start compatible ?

Now, that point I will not disagree with. I'm at work at the moment and don't have my truck here with me. But looking at some pictures online, it appears as if the body sits much closer to the rear bumper than I was thinking. I definitely see your point. I am hoping I can relocate the holes in...

Looking for help with 17mm wheel nut conversion

I thought about that, but if I went that route I would not be able to share wheels with my son. Plus I would not be able to run the ones I already have, which would mean having to spend another wad on new wheels. Yeah, those are correct for the larger dogbones. But are also the same as what...

    Flm Tvp's ? Same length as XL stock ? Roto-start compatible ?

Ah, yeah. 7/8" shorter sounds much better. I didn't mind losing a little length from stock, but the idea of losing over 1-1/2" was beginning to worry me a bit. hehehe. Glad to see that I am not the only imperfect one here. :cwm27:

Looking for help with 17mm wheel nut conversion

I have decided to stay with the factory XL dogbones for the drive shafts instead of converting to a CVD. But I still have a burning desire to get rid of the cheesy little flanged locknuts that are standard on the Savage trucks. I have already purchased a set of Ofna 17mm Wheel Hub Adapters...

    Flm Tvp's ? Same length as XL stock ? Roto-start compatible ?

I don't order regularly from the Europe, but all the times past that I have, it has only taken 1 - 2 weeks for the items to make the journey. That's weird the customs had a problem with your parts. That type of thing never happens unless it is something that you really want and can't wait for...

    Flm Tvp's ? Same length as XL stock ? Roto-start compatible ?

I ordered a set of extended TVPs from Innovative RC on the 17th of December. They seem to be very nice in the pictures, but I have yet to hold one in my hands. Having not received any type of confirmation from the site, I sent an email on Dec 20 inquiring as to the order status. Robert from I-RC...

    Aluminum steering bellcrank ??

Perhaps an old thread, but because of the "big name" endorsements here I decided to order a GH 02042 Aluminum Servo Saver Bellcrank from hopmeup on eBay for my XL. I was a little skeptical of quality already, and bank's comment gave me reason for a little more concern. But I took a chance...

Help needed with XL Outdrive CVD/Universal possibilities

You know, the more I research, the more I tend to agree with you. I ordered the HPI axles (86393) a couple of says ago that will keep the dogbones stock, but allow me to use the Ofna 17mm wheel hub adapters. Funny, but it was an effort to eliminate the silly little stock wheel nuts and convert...

Help needed with XL Outdrive CVD/Universal possibilities

Hey guys, I need an opinion here. I want to go to CVDs on my drive axles and have been having a real tough time finding something that will fit a Savage XL. I just stumbled on this and was looking for a second opinion/better suggestion. U-JOINT AXLE CVD DRIVE SHAFT Fit SAVAGE 21 25 4.6 SS X I...

    charge rates peak rate

I know this is an old post, but I wanted to answer it in case someone else needs this information. **Note: Even though I am an electrical engineer, I plagiarized much of this because I am a lazy typer. A battery’s total rated capacity is a number that indicates how much charge energy or...

    hump pack adapter

This is what I bought a few weeks ago: OnlyBatteryPacks.com 2700mAH 5-cell 6V NiMH. The cells are Sanyo AA with 4 cells bundled and a single by itself on a 3" pigtail. It fits the battery box very nicely. The 4 lay in the front of the box sideways and the single lays "front-to-back" beside the...

    Anyone have experience with Innovative-RC?

Well, just as a follow-up, I received an email from him about an hour ago. It was just an oversight on his part and I think we are on the right track now. Considering it is so close to the holidays and he is 6 hours or so ahead of me, it doesn't make it so easy to communicate with him. No...
