Crash thanks for the tip on the glow plug wrench, it did the trick. Tried as hard as I could to push the flywheel down onto the collet more, it didn't really do much and there are no more threads to screw the pilot nut down on so I think the gap is supposed to be like that.
Reassembled the...
Allan, when I had my F4.6 there was a smaller gap like yours, but with this K4.6 that is as far as I could get the nut to tighten down the flywheel. I think I need an extended socket or somthing to really get in there and tighten it down. I had a hell of a time trying to tighten that nut. I...
I am 100% certain that the position of the cb has remained in the set position the entire time while running it, I tightened the mesh after the second spur stripped but that did not seem to help at all.
The problem with the clutch not engaging and sending power to the wheels started to occur...
Allan Q, of course I loctite my engine screws, thanks for trying but that is not the issue here.
This is a video of me moving my flywheel, the black line on it represents bdc, is it normal for that much noise to come from moving the piston?
And some more pics, one showing how the...
The shoes all spring back just fine.
Just noticed inside the cb there is very thin line of dirt or somthin, really stuck on but just a thin line in the center of the cb wall that goes all the way around. Could this stop the shoes from engaging the cb?
The engine has almost a gallon through it. When I turn the spur with the engine off I can move the tires a little bit at a time by turning the spur gear.
How do I know if my clutches seized?
Took it out today after replacing the spur and tightening the cb/sg mesh. Did not notice much difference, got a couple wheelies. Then I go to start the truck and the engine is running, but the wheels are not moving. I can rev it up and spin the cb/sg, but no power is being transfered to the...
Edited:
Actually nevermind, it is not really slipping, the spur gets locks into the clutch bell and won't move a rotation if the clutch bell is held still.
The mesh seemed fine, could it have just been the amount of throttle I was giving it at certain times such as right before landing?
What is perfect cb/sg mesh? How do I know I have it?
Update! Good news is I got some wheelies today after re-tuning it and tightened the slipper clutch with no backing off. Also put more slack/length in the fuel line and put the shock screws in the highest hole on the shock tower. There was no signs of exhaust leak or anything. I think it will...
