Mounting the GoPro on the Savage XL

I made a home-made mount for the GoPro on the side of my Savage XL. Unfortunately I couldn't hit WOT because the rear suspension would sag and the wheel would hit the shield protector that was preventing rocks from hitting the camera. After watching and editing 45 minutes of video, I could feel...

    Engine Plate Failure

I thought I would just give an update. There was suggestion that I get in touch with HPI, so I did. Let me just say up front that HPI Service is top notch. These people really stand behind their stuff! I emailed them about the engine plate to asked the question if this was a common problem...

    RPM Revolver With Losi Zombie-Max

Dang, wish I had seen this post earlier! Just put the StableMaxx 17mm wheels (#82302) on my Terrapins. Got them for $8.99 CDN a pair so price wasn't bad, just removing them off the stock rims after baking them in the oven kinda sucked so not looking forward to doing that again. They look...

    Engine Plate Failure

Thanks for the reps and comments ppl! Thought of this too but I don't go out if it's colder than -10°C windchill. Besides, I would think the plastic parts would break first over this plate. I would agree not having tested one of these myself. I still believe mine cracked because of...

    Engine Plate Failure

So I talked to HPI on Monday, and they are sending an engine plate. They didn't comment whether the plate has an inherent defect, just to say that they've never heard of this problem before. Since the LHS's don't have one in stock, and the HPI is going to be a while, I decided to make my...

    Engine Plate Failure

Good thoughts and suggestions here... I would consider these cone washers but my only concern is due to the spread of the contact surface could cause the engine mount to slip. The screws would have to be in a little tighter? I change tires and re-gear accordingly, so engine mount is...

    Engine Plate Failure

So from everyone's experience, straight out of the box from HPI, a person should remove the cap screws and add washers to them? That's a poor design by HPI if this is the case. :crying:

    Engine Plate Failure

I've been reading some of the posts about cracking FLM engine plates and thinking "never going to happen to my stock 3mm HPI XL plate". Well performing routine maintenance on my savy, noticed my plate has cracked too! Any suggestions on an aftermarket plate or just suck it up and...

HIRISK's OFNA Linkage Set Up with pics and details

So I finally broke down and did this mod because the stock linakge with the loop spring really is a POS. Fot the most part, I used all the OFNA parts the OP suggested. I tried to get the splined adapater from the OFNA (30661) to fit on my Hitec 645MG servo. I ended up wrecking it so opted to...

    Winter Blahs

It was +6°C, track was melting fast, but that didn't stop me and a couple of bud's spending the afternoon tearing it apart. I broke another rear hub where the linkage connects to the hub. Maybe I gotta learn how to plant my landings? Vid from another awesome winter day...

    diff bearing gone out

Looks like my rear one fell apart today... It would have to be that one too! :stressed: I will probably go with Boca green seals. Can anyone tell me what the best way to getting the silicone fluid cleaned out of the cup? Last time I switched weights, it was a bloody mess, and I'll...

    HPI SERVICE & Tech Support

100% agree with outstanding HPI Tech support (US). I had a tank leaking at the mid seam and the OWB slip after break-in, HPI sent me new parts at no charge, no questions asked, got them in under 2 weeks. :10:
