Not so pretty anymore...
Note the string holding the bumper to the mount. You might be amazed at how well some string, some CA glue and spray accelerant works in a pinch. The string bonds to the plastic parts and becomes like plastic itself. Held up for another day's worth of bashing -...
I have no idea, other than general abuse. There are a lot of large hidden rocks in the field I was running in, so I may have whacked one at full speed. What "broke" was the front of the hinge split, causing it to end up above the hinge pin. Whatever caused it had enough force to deform the...
Oh, if you could see it now. I'll have to take some pics when I get back from vacation (yes, I took it with me - and beat the hell out of it). It's scratched, ripped, creased, and generally effed up. The rear shock towers haven't quite made it thru yet, but their imprints are well-defined in...
My first gallon of gas was Traxxas Top Fuel, 20%, and people have said that fuel sucks. So I picked up a gallon of Sidewinder 20%. Maybe it's all in my head, but the truck fired right up today, none of the pain in the *** having to lean it way out to get it to take throttle, then richen back...
LOL, that would be her line. "Look how much I saved us buying all this stuff (we didn't need) on sale!".
In the end, no beatings, no groveling. She'd rather see me out tinkering than sitting in front of the Xbox :Xfingers:
The new radio setup has forced me to re-tune, as I lost the idle setting from the original radio. So I'm having trouble again - I can get it running eventually, but when it stops, it won't start again. I start out with stock settings, and use a .040 drill bit to make sure the closed-throttle...
My car started running really weird at WOT. It kept hesitating, then going back full throttle. I thought maybe I just had some tuning issue, or an air leak or something. Then it started getting really erratic - it would jump to full throttle with the trigger released. I thought maybe it was...
Thanks all! It's got some scratches on it now :-)
To the purple-haters: never heard of mopar plum crazy purple?! :nono:
I used Pactra "Pearl Purple". It took two 3oz cans to coat it well enough to pass the sun test, but that might just be my newb technique. I backed it with black.
Came out better than I thought. I'm not so patient, so a single color was all I could muster (the black shaker hood was painted seperately - no masking :-) ).
Yep. I kept leaning it till it would stay running with some throttle. It would still stall out though, after a short throttle run, then get on the brakes, it would die. I bumped up the idle a couple times, and leaned it more a couple times. Finally it would stay running so I could make some...
