HPI Hellfire, soon to have an Axial .28RR Spec 1

I never really radar'd the Hellfire but it has more topend than a Savage XSS, which the box states 46 MPH for the XSS. I'd guess a solid 48 MPH for topspeed with the 17/52, now this is a guess based on my race Savage with RB mod STS D30M, Savage XSS and Traxxas Jato 3.3R.

Anybody ever seen or know anything about this mill?

Here is a link to the Golden Lion Enterprise Co. website, http://www.shengines.com/index_2.htm. From what I have heard alot of the big names like O.S., Axial, HPI, Associated have copies of some of the SH engines some where in there product line and even some of their most powerfull engines...

RB modded D30M vs LRP .28 spec 3

I saw that you were running the 0403 pipe and got that one first. On the RB STS D30M the smaller diameter of the 0403 pipe really hurt the low end and the topend power of the modded mill. Not sure why. My friend has SJ's setup, a stock D30M and the 0403 pipe, and it runs great. I bought the...

RB modded D30M vs LRP .28 spec 3

Something I noticed, in your sig you have the HPI ribbed pipe, get a different pipe for either the LRP or the STS. The HPI polished work ok, I went with the STS 0702 .28/.30 pipe. Also stock up on McCoy MC-59 plugs, the STS loves hot plugs and 30% nitro.

RB modded D30M vs LRP .28 spec 3

I like both the LRP and the STS D30M. The LRP doesn't have the topend that the D30M has, I know it sounds strange to say that the .30 has more high RPM power but it does. The LRP is a great mill and for the $160 or so it is worth every penny. The stock STS D30m at 119.00 ia a steal and will...

    New Sts D30m !!!

I think that both Tek and Hank will be pleased with their purchases. Please don't get discouraged with this mill, it is a **** during the first stages of break in. After you get through the static heat cycles and start the heat cycles that load the engine you are going to need to start...

    New Sts D30m !!!

I used McCoy MC-59 plug and Trinity 30% fuel for break in and I have continued to use the same. Rick Brake doesn't like the Trinity fuel BUT he recomended the McCoy MC-59 plug. My STS D30M's box had a HUGE sticker that stated to use a hot plug when running 30% nitro fuel, it was the opposite...

    Axial .28 Spec 1 RR

I love my STS don't get me wrong, BUT I have seen the Axial .28 Spec1 and the STS D28M run together and there isn't that big of a difference in power betwen the two that I saw < I just covered my butt from all the STS D28M owners :moon: I would most likely never buy the standard Axial .28...

    Axial .28 Spec 1 RR

A Main Hobbies has the best price that I have found at $164.99. I paid $169.99 at my LHS so after shipping it would have most likely been the same as getting it from A Main Hobbies. Link to A Main: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/1_23_79/products_id/14431

Which is more powerful the legend K4.6 or the or the rookie F4.6

First, you are pointing out the new F4.6 that is in the Savage X RTR. RTR's are supposed to be easy to get going and they usually don't have all the extra goodies that the kit versions do. Again look at the needs of the new nitro RC owner, the new engine needed to be easy to tune and have a...

Which is more powerful the legend K4.6 or the or the rookie F4.6

OK too answer your question you need to dig into the specs of each mill. HPI claims the K4.6 makes 2.9HP @ 35,000 RPM. It has an 8 port sleave and an 8.5mm carburator . HPI claims the F4.6 makes 2.9HP @ 32,000. The F4.6 also has a 8 port sleave but only a 7.5mm carburator. So to answer...

    Axial .28 Spec 1 RR

I am just shy of the one gallon mark right now. I have another 1/2 gallon to do untill I am satisfied with the break in, the pinch is still on the tight side. I usually don't go by tanks of fuel to determine if the mill is broken in yet. I check the pinch often and make my determinations from...

    Axial .28 Spec 1 RR

I took some pics of my Axial 28 RR before I sealed it up and forgot to post them for you guys to check out. First off I apologize for the pics, the mill was so shiney and the lazer focus on my camera wouldn't lock in on the mill. I had to focus on something else and take the pics so that blurred...
