am in the market for a set of LCG TVP's for my savage XL, they don't have to be pretty just better handing and sturdy, i also want to keep the same length of my savage XL frame for offroad purposes, trick mounts would also be nice. Currently i am talking to a guy at Platinum products about him making me a set of carbon fiber LG TVPS for my XL. Any sugestions?

Jason makes great TVP's. Haven't tried them though, but they are carbon fiber and awesome!

I also recommend Fast Lane Machine or Innovative-RC. Fast Lane Machine makes great TVP's. They are LCG and are 4.7mm thick! They are extended 1.6in in the rear. Innovative-RC also makes great TVP's. They have TVP's both extended front and rear, extended rear, extended front, and regular size. They are also LCG too and are thick. I don't buy from them much though because they are in UK. I also hear there customer service sucks.

I talked to a guy over an IRC about there extended LCG TVP's and he was very helpful, iguess you got the short end of the stick, the only problem i have is that they may be extended but even the 1inch+ 6mm extended TVP is still not as long as the stock savage xl TVP's. I also tried to get in touch wit the people over at FM and never got a reply back from them, i hear great things about the FLM TVP's but i here that they are still a little short. The reason i am such a stickler for the lenght of the TVP's is that i have a custom rollcage that are made from using the stock savage xl TVP's, (pics)and they tuck behind the shock towerrs to make room for the wing mount that i have.

I give up, but my avatar is my rig, Just know that the bars go "between" the wing mounts attached to the schock towers to protect the towers, so if those change to much the wing mount wont work anymore, shoot the origonal mounting locations may not work.

AFAIK there isnt any aftermarket TVP's exactly the same length as the stock XL items, iv just converted an X to an XL, but I'm now waiting on a set of FLM LCG EXT TVP's, they arent that much shorter, 10mm i think, and the little loss in length is more than made up for in strength, functionality (mid-tank ready) and bling appeal.

I'm pretty sure you could make that cage fit an ever so slightly shorter TVP configuration with the most minor of modifications to the cage.

Also if that cage has the steel plate mountings like the ones made my MAIN5T or whatever his name is then i think that the rear plates bolt onto one of the engine plate TVP screws on each side?? An LCG TVP set will lower that engine mount screw and a new hole will need to be drilled in the mount plate, and thats even if the mount plate still lines up with the engine plate screw after its been lowered.

As far as I know there is no manufacturer that makes the same length as the XL. My EXT LCG TVP's are 1.5" extended. These are also the same weight as the stock thin Standard Length X Plates and also much lighter than any aluminum Extended or standard length chassis. I have debated on making a longer chassis yet or the same as the XL but have not decided yet for sure unless I have a customer that wants them for sure.

Added: See this thread and vote for your chassis of choice.
