my mid tank build is slightly different then some of the 250cc mid tanks. i opted for a different radio box set up. I'm have the half way point right now awaiting the fuel tank, motor, and throttle linkage. aside from all this its nearly complete here is what i got so far.

parts

build begins, i painted the flm tvp's black.

trans, front and rear dog bones installed, there was alot of play in the two so the orings in the cups were a must here.

2 tank/chassis braces and servo/mounts installed

under side, both tvp's installed along with the engine plate.

bottom center skid installed.

the throttle servo, theres a 1/4 inch hole towards the front of the engine plate, i dremeled it alittle to make it larger so i could fit the servo wire through to make it much cleaner and less wires showing.

heres where most of the work and difference start with my mid tank build. i opted for a team losi xxxt radio box, its the perfect size to fit in the space behind the motor. i did some modifications so the on/off switch mounted to it along with the batt indicator light.

had to take the corner out of the cover of the box since it was so close to the header, I'm going to use some heat tape on the corner along with wrap the header, should keep it from getting to hot and melting the box.

mounted the hump pack on the wing mount plate with some zip ties feed through fuel tubing to get a better hold on the pack

perfect width and length.

did some triming to the stock x body to work with the flm's, trimed the rear bumper and wheel wells so it didnt look stupid and so it would fit over the large lst's, had to make new body mount holes aswel.

thats what i got so far, one the tank gets here ill mount that and also come up with a throttle brake linkage set up. i have a few vids uploading of the build aswel and ill post when there done.

nice build, two suggestions: the corner you cut off ,flip it and glue it back on inside out so you wont get any dirt inside and buy a battery box ...hmmm i think its a hellfire battery box....keep us updated.....looks great

heres the batt box info.
id tryed doing what ur suggesting bird but because of the angles and how where i cut is rounded it doesnt fit into place right flipped, so I'm going to take heat tape and just form it to the cut out thing. it will help with
a: keeping heat out of the box and away from the rx

thanks everyone, the motor SHOULD be here today but we will see.
should be up and running by the weekend.
doesn't matter tho theres 10 inches of snow on the ground and I'm not taking it out in this junk.

well unfortunately my motor didn't come today but maybe tomorrow.
my 250cc tank arrived tho, thanks Nick! may super fast shipping SMF has. highly recomend them to you all.

got an update. the build is basicly done, tanks all mounted. all thats left is the brake linkage, throttle is built but my brake cam linkage snaped in half (anyone have one laying around hit me up!) so i have that left and just installing my lrp and adjusting the linkages to the new motor and it should be good to go.

i mounted my tank different then everyone on here aswel, guess the parts i used don't cheat and watch the vid first. i like how it came out and its very sturdy.

the radio box with wrapped in heat tape, i checked and made sure it wouldn't mess with the radio and what not and cause interference and it works perfect.

i love the look of your truck!! i actually voted for u in the truck of the month polls!!

thanks man.
well my motor finally arrived today so ill instal that and finish my brake linkage. should be able to finish breaking the motor in tomorrow.

jerk.... owell i got to take it out today, thing is going to be crazy. no vids tho camera was dead.

no vids of me running the truck my camera died last night and i couldn't find the camera. i ran another tank and a half of fuel thru (i have a 250 tank keep that in mind) and man this thing is going to be nuts. the 52 spur i had wouldn't fit with the flm's and my radio box so i put a 47 spur on it. its running 17/47 with cen diffs, running incredible rich and with about a inch of loose sand on the ground it still lifted the wheels up 2-3 inches. the handling is unbelievable its the only savage i know of with oversteer.

short vid of the linkage all finished up....

few pics of the motor, had to use a purple hpi exhaust gasket for some reason there a little thicker then all other 21 size gaskets.

video!!!!!!!!!!!!
keep in mind its still break in so its is VERY rich right now. i know the idle is high I'm trying to figure out why, i think its just cuz the lsn is so rich right now for break in. its got about 10 tanks on it now (about a quart and a half) and shes pretty much broken in now, ill put another tank or two on it before i start tuning for performance.
