i am new to the savage game. i have some hpi xl tvps and some hard core racing 5mm titanium lcg. regular size. what better the regular size or xl tvps. i was thinking of getting the extended tvps from flm. but the hcr one are very nice, and i think i have some kind of skid plate but missing mountng hardware. here is a link with pic of some of the parts i got. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170297438138

Do you have the longer rear dogbone for the XL TVPs? Do you like to do wheelies? If you go with the rear extension of the XL it will kill them in most situations.

yes i do have the rear dogbone for the xl + radio box, roll bar, and engine plate. i have a brand new pico p3. the car came with some kind of ofna pipe not sure with one. i need to take pic and post the. are the flm extended shorter then the hpi xl tvps. can i use the hpi xl rear dogbone with the ftm extended for backup. also how strong are the stock hpi xl tvps.

Not sure on the length of the FLM vs the XL TVPs. You could always just look up the size of the 2 bones and compare. The stock XL TVPs arent bad but they cant compare to FLM quality.

can i still wheelie with the flm ext tvps. and what size body do you use. with the xl i use the f650 for the lst and mgt

MGT bodies fit it and with a good mill yes it will wheelie. XL will stand up with a good mill too. Even with better gering like a 47 spur over the 52

The www.platinumrcproducts.com Extended LCG chassis is 1.5" extended and the FLM is 1.6" Extended. The XL is ~2.25" Extended so is ~3/4" longer than the FLM or PRC chassis.

The PRC or FLM will be much stronger and will wheelie better than the XL Chassis. The FLM chassis is much heavier than either the PRC or XL chassis.

Like Bank said it will be tougher to wheelie but with a good motor and decent gearing they will still pull wheelies on extended chassis's.

i have a 48 gear spur and a 15,16, and 18 bell. the 15 is the racing style and the one i was going to use. i am looking for a good clutch set up. i also ordered a 3 speed tranny with upgrade 3 gear. i am new to offroad cars but i have 2 ntc3. the mip clutch works good for that car. the tvp that came with the truck are HCR 5mm titanium, the bottom of them are flat so they most lcgs and they light. there is a hole in one of the tvps so a tiger drive starter can be used. its a nice setup for the axial 28 engine because it a lot better thn hip rotor start. i scraped that whole setup to go with a brand new pico p3 pull start. i want to make a bad *** savage from the ground up. i have almost enough part to make a 2nd savage, all i need is 1 diff and to rebuild the old tranny.

wheres is a good place to buy to flm products.

not sure about that vender. there shopping chart sucks. it took me an hour to find all the stuff then right before i was going to pay it said half the stuff i ordered is out of stock with no info when they are getting them in. should i buy off ebay and pay extra.

nope. send a pm to wrenchman here on hpisf, he owns slap mo fro & is good peeps.

With the p3 15/48 will be flip over low geared for any of the extended chassis. 17-18 /47 would be in its best range for wheelies and good speed. 18 -19 for speed with the 19 keeping wheelie's to first gear only and then only with a good clutch set up. With the 3 speed 1st gear, clutch will be less of a issue.

Sorry I missed you malkalm! Welcome to the forum!

I run 2 sets of the FLM ext lcg tvps and love them. I also purchased them threw www.smfstore.com
Great owner and fast...fast...fast, and has never let me down when I needed something!
