I understand the job of the sevro-saver, I even understand how it works. But can someone explain to me how to know whether it needs adjustment or not? And then how its done properly? Thanks in advance, this site still rocks!

Phill what truck do you have and what servo? throttle / brake or steering Also what servo is it stock SF servos or aftermarket

Ive noticed it helped out alot with the steering. People also say that it helps preserve the steering servo, and I understand why. Its a easy cheap mod, that helps. I have a 25rtr and it didnt come with it, but I understand that some models had it. Look at your steering servo lower posts and see if there is a spring, if not then you need it. The Cam Type servo saver is what I have. It took maybe 20mins to put it on.
The only adjustments I had to make was because I didnt follow the instructions completely as regards to the neutral position on the servo. Make sure the servo and controller are on, and set neutral. I didnt and didnt know why my truck was turning hard left.

Okay I should have known, I thought maybe they were universal, nope. I have the Savage X and I installed a 208ounce steering servo, and a hi-tec throttle servo, cant remember the torque on that one.

OK sweet phill! you can go a lil stiffer on the saver up front with out to much worry. Put the truck on say vinyl flooring. Turn the truck from side to side(with raido). Make sure you have tire movement and not saver slip. If the saver cams over tighten up the saver.

I have a Airtronics 200 oz x .10 and I keep my saver real tight and never harmed that servo. This is the only servo I can say this for. As its all I use for steering. Just tight not locked down mind you...

Great explanation! Thanks. I had noticed some play on the cam before, Ill let you know what I find.

I checked and found hardly any play so I left it at the factory setting for know. I'm amazed at the new servo, the stocker wouldnt even turn the wheels all the way with the trucks own wieght on it. But the big one will turn the wheels on cement even with me pushing down on the front end till it bottoms out, now thats a strong servo!
