Ok boys and girls..... I know everyone has been waiting for this for some time now. The setbacks and delays have kept everyone waiting, but It's allowed for me to build a better truck.

Since about February, I've been collecting parts and ideas for this build. Many times the project has been put on hold, and I've had to wait to start the build. At this point, I'm itchin to beat this truck! For all the suffereing I've endured to this point in the project, I've named this beast "The Armageddon Project: Retribution."

Here's a pic to get things started..... Not a complete pile of parts, as some are strewn around the house, the garage, and the trunk of my car.

The Armageddon Project: Retribution has begun.

wait wait 6 wheels wheres the other 2..... is there a 6x6 in the works?????? on the bulid up of intrest lol

hey cant wait to see it start to come together, what kind of wheels are those on the right?

Scrog - the wheels on the right are 40 series Mashers on axial beadlocks

Hey thats a sick mill in the pile of parts! Is it savage bound? Is it mine lol?

Bank - That beautiful, amazing Picco will find it's way into the savage some day. For now, she'll reside in the truggy, through break-in, and until I know if that's her rightful place. I'll pull her from the truggy to test her out in the savage as well. If for some reason she doesn't work out in the truggy, she's all savage from then on!

that motor crys savage, its got too much power to spare blipping it in a truggy lol, again I cant wait to see this come together.

Well guys.... Looks like the P3 is in limbo for a while. The motor mount for the truggy isn't tall enough (motor hits chassis plate before it touches the motor mount), and the FLM motor mount for the savage isn't wide enough.....

You need a nova mount, or a stock X ss mount and your good! Run that Picco in the savage!!!!!!!!!!!

Matt I've been waiting to see this build.....glad to see you can finally get some wrench time on this long awaited project!!

I can't wait to drive it either, so hurry up and build it and get your butt to Texas!

Good luck on the build man...if you hit any road blocks you know where to find us for any help!

Alright guys.... I know I've been holding out. I've got build pics ready, so I'll start posting them up.

This build was started, and completed, on a 4x4 piece of 1/4 inch plywood. Consider it my "mobile build station". The garage was in no shape for a build like this, so most of it was done on my bed. It was the most unorganized way of going about this, but I couldn't hold out any longer. I can't even count how many screws, nuts, and bolts I lost along the way.

In the quest for the ultimate savage, I had been stockpiling parts for over 6 months. The product of my efforts was not dissapointing.

The Beginning

My build started around a pair of CEN diffs done up by Blazer. RPM arms, titanium hingepins, suspension conversion kit, 17mm hub conversion, and FLM dogbones and shock towers were added, because stock just isn't my thing. LoL The only stock items used for the front and rear assemblies were the diff housings, skids, bumpers, steering linkage and servo saver.

Next, I started mocking up the sideplates along with the tranny, motor plate, etc. Had ideas running around in my head, and needed to see what would come of them. So far, nothing great has come about, but there's still time to mod it again.

Opted for a 3 speed tranny, cause who doesn't want a pile of metal and plastic coming at them at 45+ mph? I'm a speed freak, and this beast was going to need some help to regain some speed. After all, with all the aluminum upgrades, this thing is pretty heavy.

The build was slow

I must admit "Hounding" you brought me some sick satisfaction that this truck was not built yet. Now she is a nice piece of work! Less my magnificent mill I sold you that now rusts in a back shelf long forgotten about 🙁

Now one question!

How long will this thread take? I know this truck has already been run and yet Id think from this thread it is still in pieces...

Its been a ruff year for you bud Ive been there threw it all. You deserve nothing but the best Matt. Enjoy your retribution!

Yes, the build was slow. Yes, the Picco is not yet mounted. Yes, this thread has been idle for weeks now, through the entire build, and into the weeks after. I'm catching up on it now, and yes, I will have my RETRIBUTION!!

At this point, I decided the stock FLM servo plate was not going to work with the tank I chose, so I got to measuring. I came up with the following plate, extended about a half inch longer than the FLM plate, with mounting posts for the 250CC OFNA tank. It is a near-perfect fit for this tank, and enough material was left on either side of the tank after mounting, that the battery switch can be mounted to the plate as well.

Incredible rig you got there monkey.
Hey what are you using as spacers from the shock to the towers?

Great looking build. I like the Proline Badlands. I've always wanted to try a set. Nice servo choices also... The only thing I see you changing would be the brake based on my experience. Hopefully yours is better.

Who's shock's are you using can't make out the name?

They are HPI Big Bores.

The shock standoffs actually came with the FLM parts, although I don't remember which part they came with. I think they came with the shock towers, but I could be wrong.

The badlands are very nice. Haven't had a lot of runtime with they yet, but I'm liking them so far. I probably will change out the brakes at some point. I have they adjusted fairly well for now, but I'll need something better once I drop the modified Picco in there.

I see now where the shock towers come with 4 standoffs. Those must be it.
Thanks for your help.
