i recently order a rotostart kit for my firestorm, when it got in, the one way bearing would not fit into the gear, so i tried to grind the nut on the bearing down alittle bit. i managed to get it to fit, but now the one ways bearing will spin in both deirections. so, which rotostart kit do i need to kit my firestorm?

Do you have there stock G3.0 engine? If so, you may need this Roto. Or maybe one of these OFNA #50011, or OFNA #50009

The roto gear can come in multiple sizes from 14mm to 16mm. My guess would be you need the 14mm. But i could be wrong.

Plus don't mess with oneway bearings. They break if you look at them wrong! 🙂

??? Did some reading. If it is g3.0 you are using the oneway is a 12mm hex? Is this your oneway? HPI 1430

who told you that? It looks like it may fit. Did you get a new oneway bearing? if so, tell us the size of the bearing. We then can find the roto plate/ gear you need.

Nick

again I believe that 50009 will fit.

so will the 50009 fit?

I will hope someone else can answer 100% for sure. But I believe so, i'm doing some searching around but not finding a + or - about it.

But I'm sure after reading through some of the HPI forum threads, that HPI #87117 roto plate is the beast you want.

To be honest,I like the Firestorm's pull start better than roto start. My pull start has lived almost throughout the engine's entire lifetime.

Some people might disagree, but I find roto start a pain in pants! Why not just use a pull start, that way you don't have to lug the roto around all the time and keep it's battery charged.Plus you have to spend more money.
