I came across a fuel filter last night. Would this be a good idea to have? They are really cheap and can't see it doing any harm, only good?

Do you guys use them, and if so, what make?

Thanks!

This is another debatable subject. Some swear by them and others don't. I fall into the latter-I think that the stone filter in the tank is sufficient and a screen type filter afterwards is backwards. Meaning the screen should be first to filter larger particles then the finer stone type.
I'm sure others will feel completely opposite!

i always use a fuel filter!! yes its true alot don't worry about it but if spending $5 bucks saves a engine is it not a worth while investment? it doesnt take alot of dirt to kill these engines so i guess in the end its up to you!! i use the dynamite "big daddy titanium" fuel filter and love it!!

I have used one from the start. I cleaned it the other day after about 5 gallons using it and there were 3 tiny what appeared to be grains of sand or something caught in the filter. Without these would have probably made it into the engine.

Would that have affected the engine? I don't know, but I would rather them not get there.

I use a Golden Horizon's.

Thanks for your comments =)

It is one of thoes things that you can do without, but like you have said whipnet, if it hadn't have been there you would have had some dirt getting to your engine.

I ended up buying two (in a pack) today, about £3 or $6 with mounts, which I thought was good!

On the subject of fuel, how much do you all pay? I am using 25% which is £22, roughly $44. Just trying to find other places that can supply me with fuel, rather than me paying the additional £6 ($12) p&p on top of that!

thanks again guys!!

I use a local racing brew here in Houston (Ritches Brew) that I pick up at my LHS. My truck runs better than when I used O'Donnells and it's only $15 a gallon.

$15 a gallon, woah, thats cheap! The cheapest I have been able to find is £20 ($40) that is before postage =( I am in the process of contacting some LHS to see if I can possibly gett it a little cheaper, and also save on the postage!

The way I went though 1litre at the weekend, it could be an expensive weekend out if I can't find cheaper branded fuel.

I know petrol, or "gas" as you call it is a lot more expensive here, I am not sure if the same goes for hobby fuel. It's a pitty I can't buy the fuel from the US and get it shipped.. but there are laws!

hey zxirax if i was u would try modl sports site a buy a couple of gals at at time and bit (comes to just over 50quid) and the shippings free lasts a while plus replace broke bits
