doesnt have a mill in it, or shocks on it in the pics. so thats why its sittin on the ground.
let me know what you guys think
:frustrated:
let me know also if the pics are bad, or if they are hard to make out.

Hi,

with the lst shocks you hae to have the old style non-x version arms. I don't know if you will find ALU ones like that. You might want to stick with plastic a-arms anyway, I have read 100's of times that they will bend and break. It does make since however I have never seen it or even a picture of one that bent or broke? I have had ALU arms on one of my trucks since last june and not had any problem with them. I am going to leave them on till they do bend or break then I will go back to plastic, and I will post pic's 🙂

That might be the first time I've seen the exhaust going out threw the top of the body. Interesting idea.

it probably will, but i just did it cus i was bored, and thats an old body anyways. the rear of the body doesnt attach to the truck anymore. so i figued a hole in the side wouldnt hurt anything.

ya but i've read it constricts the exhaust flow as it has to "push" it out alot harder that way, not sure if its right but thats what i've read several times!!

Good point. But it would be a decent way to keep the oil off the truck.

it does look cool i admit!! and it would keep the oil and gunk from splattering all over your truck ya just wouldnt want your face near it if it was running! lol

almost there!

I'm a deisel guy, so anything i can do to make it look like its got a stack, or two will be done. 😛 i got the lst2 shocks from BlazerX today, but unfortunatly i didnt get a tie rod relocation bracket, and i forgot about the a-arms being different. so i couldn't mount the front set, cus my LHS didnt have 2 sets of a-arms. so right now my truck is kind of ghetto rigged together. i got a shock bolt on each of the rear tie rods going into the original holes with spacers to clear the lst2 shocks. i still got my exhaust filpped over 🙂 and have 2 aluminium shock towers on the way from innovative rc along with the relocation bracket. so whenever they get here, ill tear the 'ol savvy back apart and and get it all set to go.

a couple of pics to hold you over.
half way done!

Like the guys above said, you will not fine alum arms that the lst shocks will mount to correctly however you may beable to make some of them work.

As far as the exhaust goes like that it looks really cool and would look neat with the smoke going up instead of at the ground but its probably not a good idea to run this way.

For TVP's I actually am making chassis which is 1.5" extended and LCG. Here are picts http://s151.photobucket.com/albums/s123/larsenracing/Our Parts/Savage chassis/

Here is the Thread all about the stuff. I am weighting for pricing for 4mm carbon but should know soon. and if you watch this thread I will post prices soon. https://www.hpisavageforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4054

You will be unhappy with 5" extended as the truck will be very clumsey and to long for jumping and bashing.

Instead of the rear tierod relocation bracket you should just go with the Integy Rear Hub Carriers, these eliminate the rear tierods totally along with the c-hub's.

haha, you should see my beast. well, it isnt much to look at right now, but its got some serious power. and more to come this spring. i plan on making 1000rwhp. thatll sit right around 188 f-lbs of torque i think.

Body

anyone know where i can find a 1/6 body? I'm thinking about getting that new era 5 inch extended tvp kit.

Well since no one has touched on this yet, on the 1/6th body, my buddy Tom has his Savage set up with the Innovative Ext TVP's (front and rear) and has a 1/6th scale body on it. His is the one on the far right...

Mine looks small compared to it! (on left).

I will ask him who makes it and where he got it from soon and update here.

thanks ShiftPoint, but I'm not entirely sure that would work. i would probably break it, seeing as my savvy spends as much time on the roof as it does on the wheels!

and piney, those TVP's are just the 6mm fronts. so ill be waiting for a week or two to get the 6mm front and 1 inch rear.

yeah, that way it is guaranteed to have the warranty. knowing how i drive, and that my dad hijacks it fairly often and finds the side of our semi. so the warranty is nice.

thanks Pineapple. i guess ill stick with the stock exhaust and save up for a buku.
as for a new mill, i have been looking at the STS D28M or D30M. anybody run one of these?

I've got an RB modded STS D30M and about to install the Buku pipe I just got. The D30M has been a great engine for me so far, I've got about 4 gallons on it.
