Hi

I'm going to be fitting a pair of front led lights on my savage XL, Just wanted to know would it be better if the lights had there own power source ?

I don't want the truck battery usage to be shorted by having the lights running of the same battery - not even sure how much power the lights will be consuming.

or is it possible to use a battery that has more amp to it, but the same voltage ? so the lights and the truck can run on the same battery ?

In theory this should still give me the same battery usage if lights where not on the truck ?

I have lights on my RC4WD Trailfinder 2 trail truck and I am just running them off the LiPo battery used to run the truck, in truth the leds draw very little power so runtime is nominally affected.... I did buy a switch set with the lights that I plugged into the 3rd channel of my receiverDSCN2778.JPG

that mini jst plugs into the switch so I can easily remove the body, both the light set and switch are from RC4WD

I’m thinking of connecting some sort of key fob for the in and off of the lights,
Haven’t got w spare channel in my transmitter
It’s being used up for reverse.

This key fob device (haven’t decided which one yet) still in the look out basically will be some sort of device that will be connected in between the battery and the light controller box so just didn’t know wether this key fob receiver device will be draining battery ?

Hence why I thought seperate battery for the lights ?

something like that will work, it requires no connection to your existing radio system and can be powered off one of the small receiver batteries, or any small LiPo battery, just plug in your lights and use the included remote to turn them off and on....

Hey Jam

Thats exactly what I'm looking at
thought id probably make one but its just easier to buy this, ive placed an order for it
thanks for pointing it out to me, its convinced me know to get this one haha

looool

well originally thought i didnt want to spend above £30 on a light switch!
because i know i can probably make one for a lot less than that price - but when Jam recommended it to me again, i realised its probably much easier to buy this than to 2 modules in the car (light controller and also some sort of rf light receiver )

this is tiny and also waterproof plug the led straight into this - hook it up to a battery and of you go! lol
like the simplicity and neat.
