Possible to power glowplug with hump pack?

Hey guys just wondering if i could possibly power a GP with hump pack or 3rd channel on reciever i sold all my traxxas stuff but still have a extra wiring harness with the GP wire does this make any sense?!

it is possible. but you will have to drop the voltage to the plug to 1.5 volts or it will burn out very fast.... just to clarify the glow plug stays lit from combustion not from voltage , only time you need it powered is during starting....

Right! Thats why I'm saying possibly use on third channel with the button to engage from reciever?

You would still need a regulator. The ch3 output will likely be 6V, assuming you use a hump pack battery for your RX.

The current draw a glow plug will pull may be way too much for a receiver to deal with anyway. I'd just spend the $12 on a dedicated glow ignitor.
